Aibu neighbours parcels

My neighbour keeps getting all their parcels delivered to me, not a problem I work from home so I am always around. Bit annoying when I am in the middle of something though and need to stop to answer the door!

The problem I have is that their parcels keep piling up, it can be weeks till they collect them.
Twice now when collecting them - they have told me that the delivery drivers aren’t telling them where the parcels are despite the drivers telling me they will pop through a card or text them!
I have had ten parcels here sitting here for a fortnight and they haven’t bothered to collect them.. today another parcel turns up so I tell them I can’t take any more parcels, I don’t have the room and they aren’t telling the neighbours were to collect!
for them to tell me they are telling them to bring them to mine through their ring door bell!!

I find this really bizarre that they are lying about not knowing where their parcels are, and then just letting them all mount up! Are they expecting me to take them round? Confused

aibu to not take anymore? i literally have no space in my hallway from all their parcels!

Stop accepting them!

Glittertwins · 10/12/2025 17:13

I put you are being unreasonable purely because you should never have continued after the first time.
Dump them on their doorstep, get a camera doorbell so you don’t have to interrupt your work to answer the door

There is a thread like this every week. Just refuse going forward and /or use the useful suggestions on this thread.

I started to say no when one neighbour who I had never spoken to told the delivery driver that it was ok to leave a bed at my house.

gruffaloaddict · 10/12/2025 17:53

Put them all on neighbours doorstep with a note saying you have no more room, ring the doorbell and tell them through that if you want… but make it v clear their free storage is over! What cheeky idiots!

I accidentally clicked YABU ffs, of course YANBU!!! We have a CF neighbour who used to do this, she eventually got the message when several attempts by delivery driver to deliver her treadmill to different neighbours all failed… I actually began to feel a bit sorry for the DPD driver as I watched him go from door to door trying to get someone to take the monstrosity 😆 He got an earful from a neighbour who works nights and was woken up!!! I either make sure I’m going to be in or get deliveries sent to a local collection point. Your neighbour is being a dick!

I would leave the parcels outside their front door and smile and wave into the ring doorbell camera as I leave. Then I wouldn’t accept any more.
