They refused us service?

Went out for breakfast/brunch today, had no reservation so told they wouldn’t seat us. Fine. Makes sense.

I walked out, checked their online booking tool and saw there was a free table - booked it. And they said it’s not how it works and they would not be serving us.

Aibu?

And so I'm told everyday hospitality is on its last legs, well it certainly will be if they turn away paying customers. Or is this a continuation of the independent shops don't give a shit thread?

How can they tell that by looking at a group ?
