Because I just can’t be bothered?

I’m supposed to be working a 7-4:30 shift tomorrow. I hate the role I’m working in because it’s so high pressured. AIBU to just call in sick?

I’m still wondering how shadowing someone can be high pressured but I understand that’s a ‘me’ issue and misses the point.

As PP said I would suck it up this time unless you really can’t. Start looking for something else.

Nobody ever said on their death bed I wish I’d been at work more.

Thats a very simplistic comment. I'm not going to be in my deathbed thinking "I'm so glad I paid bills" either but I still do it

Probably most people don't actually want to be at work every day they have to be. But due to commitment, integrity and just decency they don't lie about being sick when they can't be bothered going in

If there is a bigger problem at work, speak up and face it or look for a position that suits you better rather than lying about being ill
