Can I ask you for your best dishwasher recommendations please. And do I go for integrated or not?

Integrated and Bosch have been great for us over the years.

ginislife · 30/11/2025 06:04

Integrated if you can. They look better. Avoid Siemens ! No idea why I bought a second one when the first was so bad. Now got a Miele.

sesquipedalian · 30/11/2025 06:05

I have a Miele - it’s my second. Very good - wouldn’t be without it.

Lincslady53 · 30/11/2025 06:53

We had our kitchen refitted 7 years ago now, and the dishwasher choice was difficult. We intended getting a Miele or Bosch but the reviews at the time had loads of complaints for both. So in the end, we opted for Beko, which was probably the cheapest, but got fewer complaints than more expensive ones. And do know what? It's been fine. It washes the dishes, is quiet, and has had no maintenance issues. The only negative from me, is as it is integrated, you can't tell whether it is running or if it has finished. It does beep at the end, but you need to be close to it to hear it.

Lambington · 30/11/2025 06:56

We got a Bosch integrated one last year (our first ever machine) and have been really pleased with it.

ByQuaintAzureWasp · 30/11/2025 06:57

Bosch, AEG or Neff. I would only buy one with a cutlery shelf rather than a cutlery basket. We have Neff and it shines a light on the floor telling you how long it's got left to run.

LastNovember · 30/11/2025 08:08

This house had a Bosch when we moved in and k left my Miele. Still regret leaving it!

Blarn · 30/11/2025 08:11

We have a Beko, it's the only one we have ever had and I think we've had it three years. It is great, washes really well, rinses well, it's never blocked. It was about the £300 mark and I'm really pleased with it.

PodMom · 30/11/2025 08:13

I have a Bosch and it doesn’t get stuff as dry as my old hot point. Probably an energy saving feature 🤷‍♀️. I do like the cutlery drawer.

user593 · 30/11/2025 08:14

We have an integrated Miele dishwasher which is excellent. We had an integrated Smeg one before and it was rubbish, very flimsy and didn’t clean well.

JDM625 · 30/11/2025 08:21

We have an integrated Miele. I mainly wanted Miele because they used to have a 10yr warranty and I'm hoping it lasts. Their warranty is only 2yrs now though. I can't say that it cleans any better than say a bosch or a cheaper model, but so far I do like it. There is also a miele outlet and the price list changes daily. We bought an integrated fridge/freezer and our washing machine from there and they were perfect.

We had a stand alone Siemens, which I loved. Changed it for an integrated Bosch when we refitted the kitchen.

The Bosch is fine; I would say the Bosch dries better, but even the fastest cycle with half load is about 90 minutes - twice that of the Siemens.

I like the look of the kitchen with the integrated machine; the Stan alone had more space.

But so far, both were problem free.

ScaryM0nster · 30/11/2025 08:43

look at the cycle lengths.

The only one we use is the 60 degree one hour one. It’s long enough to wash properly, short enough to get done and reloaded in an evening, and hot enough to avoid drains problems.

fussychica · 30/11/2025 08:50

We have a Bosch integrated slimline with cutlery tray. It's nearly 11 years old. Probably the best cleaning of any machine I've had in 45 years of owning a dishwasher.

Bosch, Siemens (domestic appliances) and Neff are owned by the same company and made in the same factories nowadays, so reliability wise there will be no difference. It’s just a matter of what features, design and price you need or are happy with. Miele are still family owned AFAIK.

HateThese4Leggedbeasts · 30/11/2025 09:07

My old house had a Siemens which got so much more in it than my current AEG one. It feels like twice as much. I'm half hoping the AEG one breaks soon so I can change it.

tarheelbaby · 30/11/2025 09:16

Bosch with cutlery tray here. Cheapest Bosch available at JL at the time (2016) b/c we had vouchers there. I think DH repaired something minor once or twice.

It's been nearly 10 years but I still don't like the cutlery tray - it's a faff and the cutlery, especially table knives, isn't always clean even though we leave spaces between items. Plus it's hard to find places for larger cooking spoons and scrapers and such.

It's definitely better than no dishwasher but I miss the previous one (Hotpoint) because its insides were better: the bottom tray had fold down dividers so you could fill it with big pots and awkward things more easily.

socialdilemmawhattodo · 30/11/2025 09:31

Just looking myself this weekend after my 6 year old Bosch went wrong and the repair visit plus likely new parts was half the cost of a new machine. One big difference i have noticed is that the delivery services are only to plug in not hard-wire. For me that will mean getting a new socket put in, which has to be within 1m of the dishwasher.

macshoto · 30/11/2025 09:31

Integrated Miele - have one we paid full price for, and one from the Miele Outlet (that has been linked by an earlier response).

Both do an excellent job. If you do go down the outlet route, do phone them up and talk through the condition of the item they are sending you. I did have a fail when they sent me a washer-dryer where the transport bolts had been reinstalled by someone who had no idea what they were doing, making the machine inoperable.

deeahgwitch · 30/11/2025 09:41

I have a very old Bosch.
I would get another one.
The one thing I would insist on is a cutlery basket. My Mum has one that has a sliding out shelf thing. I can’t be doing with that. I hate it.

Buscobel · 30/11/2025 09:50

Our integrated Zanussi came with the new house and failed after two years. There were few integrated options and Beko was the most cost effective. It had a cutlery tray and a light that shone on the floor whilst it was on.

As far as I know, it’s still going nine years later and we now have a Neff that came with the house. Only a cutlery basket, which I’m not keen on, but otherwise it’s OK.

I prefer the Beko and I’m sure the new ones are more advanced.

user593 · 30/11/2025 18:56

I must be in the minority because I love a cutlery drawer/shelf!

That’s one of the reasons both of ours are Miele - cutlery drawer/shelf is so much better than a basket.

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 30/11/2025 19:12

Get insurance through domestic and general. If anything goes wrong with the machine they will fix or replace. It’s about £3 a month and an absolute godsend

DevaneyRob43 · 30/11/2025 20:58

Bosch anyday
