Sorry about posting here but need quick replies as Im about to go into a salon to complain and want to know whether AIBU

In short, had my eyebrows waxed yesterday. Usually get it threaded but last time they did a mixture of threading and waxing. So this time when they asked me which method I preferred I said I didn't mind. During the waxing session she said my skin was reacting to it and said I should have said it's new to me. I said it want. She finished it, I was happy with the result and left. Soon after it started stinging and last night the area was shiny. I put some gel cream on. This morning it was still stinging and shining. Upon googling I discover that it is quite possibly due to me having een using tretinion treatment on my skin and this is called skin lifting.

Is it my fault for going ahead with the waxing, I didn't know that tret will cause this or is it the beauticians fault for not checking that I was on anything that might react? She didn't even give any suggestions for aftercare.

Thanks!

I think it was the beauty therapists responsibility to ask you if you had them waxed before and maybe do a patch test? Not sure about the second bit though just a guess thinking about similar to when you have your hair died because of yhe chemicals? Also definitely should have given after care advice. Good luck.

I’ve never used is as I have ultra reactive skin, but even so I’m aware that Tret is something to use under supervision, with caution and without other active products. I’m not sure I believe you don’t know the principles of what you are using.
The salon does have a duty of care, but she also asked you if you’d had it done before, and you gave permission for her to continue. You can not complain.

Every time I have my brows waxed, I'm asked by the same beautician if I'm using retinol or tart based creams since the last visit. Its something they should be aware of.

Thanks for the replies. I chickened out of going in to complain in person as it's a small salon and busy and everyone would have heard me, and I couldn't face that.
I genuinely didn't know/think or occur to me about the tret and it's impact on waxing. I did get my eyebrows waxed in September but that was before I started the tret, so I was fine then.
I still think they should have asked, so I'll pop them an email. I have dark skin so was extra worried as I get hyperpigmentation easily, but the scabbing seems to be falling off without any ill effects so far, fingers crossed.
