Is husband being a prick?!

my Husband has an issue with me cooking “greasy” foods in the house and it’s getting to the point where I want to leave. I know that sounds dramatic but I was cooking chicken Parmesan tonight for dinner and he literally went ballistic when he got home, it’s my favourite food and haven’t had it in years and the minute he saw me shallow frying the chicken he went nuts ranting how the whole house smells like grease and how he won’t feel clean for days! Im so fed up. It’s okay for him to bring home stinking fish and chips and has no problem with garlic or onions or whatever else! Please give me some perspective here

Have people missed that he seemingly has no problem standing in the greasy chippie waiting for his greasy fish and chips and doesn't mind those smells? Rather selective sensory issues Hmm

This is tricky. I hate greasy foods being cooked too. I have weird sensory issues with food. Does he?

Guys cant get away with saying "i've got sensory issues".

I think 'weird sensory issues' are something people have to manage for themselves, rather than expecting everyone else in the household to restrict their cooking and eating to accommodate them.

Damn.

Yes, he's being an asshole. Does he have sensory issues?

Either get an air purifier, it really helps with cooking smells or get rid of the husband.

This is going to seem a stupid question but is this an electric device thing? (Open plan house and cooking smells drive me potty, the extractor fan does a good job but there's often a lingering odour.)

Do you have an extractor hood... If not, why not.

Yes! Two extractor fans!

In reality frying does makes your house smell, but it depends if you can put up with the smell, lots can’t stand it.

Yes. It runs air through a HEPA filter and a carbon filter and it absorbs odors and particulates.

People, anyone, cooking in my house without opening the window and using chef candles for stinky food do give me the rage, but I wouldn't question what they're cooking as long as they eat it, and clean up - and not feed the kids crap or junk food
