Royal Mail dumping parcels and claiming not in

They must have a lot of parcels because of Christmas and Black Friday and they can’t keep up.

I’ve had them say that I wasn’t in on Saturday and on Monday. It was parcel force and I could track it live. Watched it from 70 stops away to 5 stops away then the tracking turned off and it said attempted delivery. I went out in my slippers looking for the van. Now I’m panicking as it says two attempts, I don’t want it to get returned.

Then today my sister messages us about her package, with a picture that the Royal Mail sent saying delivered. It was of her block entrance and had a fake signature. Now she is having to chase this up.

This must be happening to other people too.

It is! I complained. My usual Postie is excellent but I had a Boots parcel delivered which was literally thrown onto my step ( wasn’t my usual Postie)
He rang the Ring doorbell and left. I was actually cleaning in the lounge and could have been there in seconds. Two dogs loudly announcing his presence too.
I had no notification that it was delivered, no card. If I’d been out it could have been taken, would have smashed if it was a bottle. Also as it was Boots could have been medication.
This happened about a month ago. A couple of days later I was having a Kindle delivered for a present. This was safely handed over by my usual guy.
Not worth complaining, though I waited ages for a response. They requested the footage and you can hear the thud the parcel makes and see him leave. Response was basically sorry and will ask them to be more careful.

I think it's hard for them to please everyone.

I, like many, consider the Ring doorbell as ample notification of a delivery.

I even prefer them not to ring the bell, so as not to set off my dogs. I get a notification from Ring without them pressing the bell anyway.

I have a parcel box too, so when they deliver and leave without pressing the bell, it is my preference.

I have had the pretend failed delivery occasionally too, but thankfully it's pretty rare despite having multiple deliveries most days. Hopefully OP will get her delivery soon.

I currently have an issue with a parcel not being delivered when it says it was. Again I was in the house and no delivery was attempted. The signed for ‘proof’ is 3 initials and no photo. I’ve had to refer it back to the seller to raise with Royal Mail. In the meantime I’m down £70 and a Christmas present and unsure whether to buy elsewhere in case it never arrives.
