To be annoyed by reflectors on roadsides

I live rurally and a few years ago the only thing that would have reflected my headlights was animal eyes. Quite common to notice a cat or fox this way and be able to avoid them.
In recent years lots of people have started putting small wooden stakes on the verges outside their houses. Presumably they want to stop anyone parking on the grass despite the fact it does not belong to them.
So AIBU to be annoyed by this effective light pollution which makes it much more difficult to spot wildlife?

Kindly OP, what planet are you on? You’re driving, not on a bloody safari. The idea is increased safety, not being able to spot critters in hedgerows..

Why do they increase safety?

Why do they increase safety?

It's helpful for drivers in the dark, who don't know the road as well as you.

Maybe the stakes are to show the entrance to the driveway and house.

I do a lot of night driving in the countryside. I'll have to make a note to look out for these blots on the landscape next time I'm allowed out.

I've noticed quite a few of these in the area where I live OP. On the whole I don't mind them and they do make it easier to find entrances to driveways sometimes, but there's one road that I drive down fairly regularly where someone has put a row up that are so bright that they confuse my auto dipping headlights which is a bit annoying. I'd still only class it as mildly irritating though!

Why do they increase safety?

Because it highlights obstacles that may not be otherwise seen. It's not to stop parking, it's to highlight where the verge (or path or decorative rock or low wall or etc etc) may be in plenty of a time for a driver to see them.
