Ok so its minor in the grand scheme of things but....

Went into Next (large city branch) today for a new pair of jeans - a treat having shed 2 stone of baby weight (its only taken a year)/ Lots of lovely styles/colours blah blah blah.. start looking for my size in short length (am 5"1), first style... nope...second style..no...third style..nada,regular and long only.

Ok so I get it, they must have changed the layout, short jeans in petite section... bimble over... 1 style of bastard jeans in the ugliest style/colour ever.

So I accost a sales "assistant" ask her what the crack is...appparently they dont stock short length much... but I can order them.. and pay for them.. before I even get to see them - I THINK NOT!!! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hmm,I don't know what's happened with Next lately. I used to fit size 12 but have lost weight and so tried size 10 and size 8 and neither fit properly and Next bottoms always used to be such a good fit on me. Surely I should be able to just move down a size or two?

Also, the petite leg length is just too short - and the standard is too long. Very frustrating.

I would also like to whine about shoes. Some high street stores shops offer wider fittings. Not a single one that I've found offers narrower fittings.

I'm in the 6'1" / 6'2" category and sympathise but from the other end of the scale... have often suggested buying trousers with short friends and nabbing some material off their hems... always a good look, a little horizontal seam 4 inches above your ankle.

AND I have loooong, narrow feet. Ever looked in the rejects size 9 section in shoe shops? GRIM, as if they expect you to lose your sense of style once you're taller than 5'6".

Sorry, I sympathise but have also taken the opportunity to have my own personal whinge

Turn them up girls. Next jeans are great I think but I always have to turn them up two inches. Worth it though. Match the thread and they don t look any different.

Another freakishly tall woman here. (well 6ft but freaky to those in the know when it comes to supplying jeans etc.)
I have to travel to the nearest large town/city to get my long stuff. It's the only New Look/Dorothy Perkins etc that do a tall section.
I'm an awkward leg length. Just over 34in so 33/34 comes up short after a few washes and 36 is dragging along the floor. Great fun when wet.

But I'm an awkward bugger as I have long legs, long body and arms and big boobs so I just can't win. I have to buy my tops at least a size or 2 larger to go over the norks.

I want to be one of these 'normal' women the clothes are sized for.
