To try Chinese medicine?

I am usually of the thinking that Western medicine is the answer, take your medicine, follow the rules of exercise and good diet and sleep etc. But I have been back and forth to the doctors for five years now with issues that I believe are hormonal. I have been put on this, taken off that and nothing ever changes, I get worse all the time. I feel terrible and I have had enough of it.

My DH suggested recently I try and find a practitioner of Chinese medicine. We used to have a shop near us but it closed down a few years back.

Has anyone every tried going down this route? And how successful was it?
I don't know what it would be, herbal remedies or acupuncture or what. I can't remember what it felt like to feel good and Chinese medicine is an ancient culture that has supported millions throughout time, so surely it could help me right?

I agree with @MargoLivebetter and use the ATCM site to find a practiioner. I am using acupunture to treat perimenupause stymptons and it's been a lifesaver for me. It has also helped treat carpel tunnel and lower back pain. Acupuncture has really changed my life and I used to be very skeptical of it at first and now I recommend it all the time.
