I’m on desserts this year.

I will be making

  • tiramisu
  • apple pie
  • lemon and blueberry cheesecake
  • possibly a Yule log but tbh I can take or leave cake as a pud (made it before and not sure it’s worth the effort even though there’s no denying it is good)

My personal favourite is sticky toffee pudding which I was going to do but in my mind it’s too similar to tiramisu ie stodgy

Christmas pudding and trifle, both homemade and large. My two weeks' Christmas holidays are precious, I don't massively enjoy cooking, and there will only be the five of us plus mine and DH's dads. Two puddings, plus a cheeseboard and Christmas cake, is plenty!

Yule log. Just 3 of us.

I’ve never heard of multiple puddings like this being on offer. Two maximum - Christmas pud and another for those who don’t like that. I don’t believe in making an insane amount of work for myself at Christmas!

A few individual apple pies (by request)
Brownies (ditto)
White chocolate and raspberry cheesecake
Mince pies and Christmas pud
ice cream, cream, and brandy butter

Edited to add: I like baking and I have no other cooking to do this year

We don’t end up having desert until the evening; we’re all just stuffed after the dinner.

so we have a cheese board, warm mince pies (with brandy butter/custard) and a Yule log if anyone wants any.

We then have proper Christmas pudding on Boxing Day, and also tend to have a lemon roulade or lemon tart or pavlova

We alternate who we are with each year. When it’s my side we do tend to be quite extravagant with food as my sisters and I are quite capable cooks. One sister is doing canapés and her husband is doing breakfast and drinks. One is doing the main and I’m on puddings. Everyone else is on clearing up duty.

The puddings are eaten in the evening in front of a movie/with games.

There’s a large group of us and it does all get eaten. Not all on Christmas day.

Very rare anyone fancies pudding, but I’ve got a couple of the individual Christmas puds, a frozen cheesecake and will have custard, ice cream and pouring cream for anyone that wants any. A relative always brings loads of homemade mince pies too, which usually get picked at after dinner.

My absolute favourite Christmas dessert is Christmas Pudding Cheesecake (https://tomkerridge.com/recipes/christmas-pudding-cheesecake/) and I make one every year but usually sometime in December rather than Christmas Day itself.

DH's birthday is Christmas Day so I usually make a birthday cake on Christmas Eve and we have that on the day. Last year he had a gin and tonic one, the year before that a brownie/cheesecake combo, and the year before that a yule log recipe that I turned into a homemade caterpillar cake. Need to find a recipe for his cake this year!

I make Baileys cheesecake every year too Grin I found the recipe a few years ago on glutenfreecuppatea but the only GF requirement is the digestives so you wouldn't know.

Also sherry trifle using GF madeira cake. Then there will be shop bought mince pies and home made Xmas cake as further options. Sometimes I make Nigella's clementine cake. We live on xmas dinner leftovers for most of the following week so I make multiple puddings.

If I was only thinking of myself I would make a black forest roulade but nobody else would like it.

Gluten-free Baileys Cheesecake Recipe No-bake (dairy-free/vegan option)

Gluten-free Baileys cheesecake recipe - no-bake and super easy to make! Nobody would ever know it's Coeliac-friendy and wheat-free too.
