AIBU to pursue diagnosis?

Apologies for long post but keen to get views on whether I should go back to doctor regarding ongoing symptoms.
About 6 years ago I started noticing tingling/slightly numb feelings in the right hand side of my face and down my arm. I was also getting frequent headaches in that side of my head. It got bad one day, so I went to doctor who referred me to urgent care and I was checked for symptoms of a TIA. The conclusion was that I hadn’t had a TIA but I had an MRI scan which showed nothing significant. I was prescribed amitriptyline for pain relief from headaches.
Fast forward to 2022 and I went back to doctor as symptoms were still ongoing. Had another MRI and again, no obvious cause was found, though early signs of cerebral small vessel disease were found. They also found I hadn’t high blood pressure on the day I was seen (never had high blood pressure on my life before then), so I was put on high blood pressure meds. The consultant advised that because I was perimenopausal, it was likely due to my age 🙄
Anyway, here I am in November 2025 with same tingling symptoms and now have some facial twitching, though it’s intermittent and not visible to others. I’ve had any issues with cervical spine ruled out.
So AIBU to go back again and try annoy her neurologist? Has anyone and similar experience? I kind of feel like I’ve been viewed as a time waster but I know how I feel and it’s not right.

I had all this during perimenopause. Like you, had the head MRI and nothing showed up.

What it was? Anxiety triggered by hormones unbalance. Very odd as I didn't feel anxious, but my body thought differently. That was 10 years ago.

Did the amitriptyline help? I have had lots of weird neurological systems and when nothing jumps out it's always put down as migraine. The amitriptyline normal stops what ever it is going on

it didn’t fully eliminate headaches. In the end I came off them as it felt like the benefits had plateaued

Thanks for sharing your experience. How long did it take for it to resolve? I’m on oestrogen patches and had a hysterectomy last year but it’s still here.
What you said about anxiety is interesting. I’d had a rough 12-18 months beforehand so wonder if that triggered it. Just wish i could stop it now!
