Am I being fobbed off or do I really need to just live with these symptoms?

I think my doctor thinks I'm being dramatic. For the past year, I have had patasthesia in my right leg. It's not so much tingling, but an odd almost burning sensation which seems to run from my pelvis all the way down to the side of my knee. Don't notice it as much during the day but it is very intense every morning when I wake up. I've had a brain and spine MRI as neurologist wanted to rule out ms and disc problems which thankfully was all clear. I'm now being told that now that is ruled out, I just live with it, it's probably nothing. I don't know what to do anymore. It is real, I'm not being dramatic, there MUST be other things they can look for? Blood tests showed low folate but that's within normal levels now and has been for some time. Does anyone have any advice at all for how to advocate for myself here? Is this really such an unusual symptom?

I had this and like you neurology found nothing. It lasted about a year or so and then oddly just disappeared. Never did get to the bottom of it. Had a very brief return of symptoms and it coincided with a trip to physio about some back ache and it disappeared again after he’d worked on my back.

My husband had something very similar years ago. He had all the tests and eventually it went away. It took about 18 months, though. It was in both thighs, iirc.

Sounds like it could be meralgia paraesthetica?

It's on the inside of my thigh and I can trace it's exact path, whereas I think mp is usually on outside of the leg

I'm glad to hear it went away. Mine just seems to have for worse and has hit a peak this morning where it's actually really painful for the first time. I really mine goes away too.

I do remember how awful it was. At its peak it was my whole body and was very painful. I do think not knowing why is almost as bad as the pain itself and causes much of the stress.
