I apologise for how disorganised this is, I'm panicking and overwhelmed currently.

In short because I don't know who is reading.

Child is having issues in school. I witnessed something with my child, it was a physical altercation and now they're coming home saying xyz has happened.
I reported an incident in school and was spoken to like a child, I witnessed essentially an assault on my child and other children being spoken to like absolute rubbish at the same time.

Now parents have come to me crying literally saying that their child appears to be experiencing similar things - all they know is I've had a couple of issues, not the details.

I feel like I'm treading on egg shells every time I enter the grounds and I'm so close to pulling my child out and home educating.

Has anyone else ever felt like this? The issues do not lie at home...

Have you had a proper meeting to discuss this seriously with the school? I'd look at another school if your child is being hurt and school aren't dealing with it effectively. Try and do something to regulate your nervous system in the meantime eg talking to friends or a counsellor, exercise etc. as it will be harder to handle this incident effectively and calmly if you're feeling (understandably) stressed and emotional about it.

If you have witnessed this, please write a calm statement (keep to the facts) and deal with this via letter/email. Email the head, and then if you don’t get an immediate investigation (give them a time limit with this - maybe 3 working days) then take it higher. Is it a state school, academy or private? You need to keep this in writing and try and take the emotion out of it. Use words like “concerned” and “safeguarding” rather than more emotional terms and you may find you get a better response.
