Just that really! Interview is later this week, I’m already buying too much clothes trying to cut back I have this and a navy blazer to wear with. Blow dry, leather bag, long black wool coat. It’s a professional advisor role, large international firm

Can I wear this to a job interview?

I really think it depends on expectations as per the industry. I really have no idea about law. My first impression was that it looked like a winter-wedding outfit (as others have mentioned, due to the sheer skirt overlayer) although the boots help ground it a bit.
It might be perfectly appropriate for a ‘big’ job though, my workplace is quite casual.

With a navy blazer it will look perfect. 👌

Thank you 😘

Most firms now are dress down anyway I just wear my jeans in the office anyway as do the Partners! So anything more formal than that is interview attire anyway!

Perfect good luck.

Perfectly corporate and smart, just make sure the cami is high enough so the vneck is not too deep.

That's the kind of clothes women do wear for corporate interviews, people who say it's not "appropriate", what else do people think they actually wear in real life? (genuine question, how do you imagine the workplace? Downtown Abbey?)

Thank you, also this made me laugh 😂 I’m possibly overthinking it, my own workplace is smart casual ish and I’ve worn this to work previously so I felt like why not just chuck on a blazer and get the use from it!

I think the blazer will be a great final touch!

Yes you can and it's gorgeous on you

coxesorangepippin · 12/11/2025 19:55

Looks good to me

Yes, perfect. Suits at interviews mark you out as "of a certian age" these days. I interview for professional roles a lot and not many women come in a suit

Evaka · 12/11/2025 20:01

Looks super smart. Best of luck x

Interesting! So curious to see what people wear generally or what the standard is. From speaking to friends in other industries and in this one, it seems a suit isn’t standard anymore for women anyway

Perfect. Good luck!

PracticalPixie · 12/11/2025 20:57

If you don't like suits, don't wear one. Dresses are fine for interviews, so if you like that one, go for it.

Good luck!
