to have a Baileys so early?

Earlier in the year, my husband was very ill (much better now) and Dad diagnosed with dementia, I dropped Friday from my working week to do more for them both

Every week I’ve had loads to do, which is fine as that’s why I cut my working week. Today I’ve ‘only’ had to clean our house, which I’ve done 😃 and I really fancy a Baileys

But it’s so early to be drinking isn’t it…

Definitely do not ever have Bailey's in your coffee. It is basically smack, and you have to spend the rest of your life feeling slightly sad that this treat isn't really "adulting" most of the time.

Tiredmumno1 · 07/11/2025 15:45

Just came on to tell you all that Sainsbury’s have it on Nectar price for £11 a litre at the moment.

beats Morrisons and Tescos 😉

I think i will join you!
£14 for a big bottle at Tesco right now (just saying!)

£11 in Sainsbobs!

Pollqueen · 07/11/2025 15:55

Well it's nearly Christmas 🎄 so go for it 🤷‍♀️

I have been known to have some in my porridge

Not sure whether to be totally impressed or horrified at that 🤔

In my defense, it was Christmas!

Oh god, that sounds amazing.

I’m now also wondering about coco pops with Baileys

DiscoBob · 07/11/2025 17:37

Baileys is lovely in coffee! Also lidls do a really nice white chocolate baileys dupe. It's less than £7. Hope you enjoyed it!

Louisetopaz21 · 07/11/2025 17:39

A captains baileys is amazing captain Morgans rum in it yummy and the coconut rum with it is also equally lovely

Well say no more, if you can't have a Baileys in you breakfast cereal at Christmas, when can you?

In coffee? That’s an idea. Presumably instead of milk, not both

Instead of milk, most of my coffees from 1/12 contain baileys 😅

Clingfilm · 07/11/2025 17:42

I thought you meant early as in not Christmas yet 😁 I've already had a mince pie but Baileys is for December only in this house. Otherwise I'd be 40 stone.

JipJup · 07/11/2025 17:42

1pm is positively late compared to the amount of MNetters who roll out of bed on Christmas day and get straight on the booze!

Enjoy your tipple OP.

babylone · 07/11/2025 17:50

Baileys is only for December!!

but more seriously, you have so much on at the moment, no wonder you feel like having a little treat to escape the dire reality of the moment. Would it make things better? How are you going to feel later in the day for having been tipsy (because lets be honest, it is never only one glass of baileys…). Alcohol is a depressant and after the initial high, comes the shitty low. Is it worth it? Maybe a better idea after 7pm then you can go to bed tipsy and wake up ok tomorrow morning (providing you were only tipsy and not drunk)
sorry to be a party pooper and a Karen. I do feel like a drink would help sometimes but my life is almost in tatters at the moment and honestly i think it would be much worse if i started drinking! And i owe it to the people i care for. Instead of a drink i try to look after myself, a nice luxurious shower, a fancy cream, an early night with a good book, a 30 mins back massage at my local salon..
Good luck xx

My 80+ year old great aunt and her bridge playing pals introduced me to coffee with Baileys. If it’s good enough for them…

Exactly. I’m sure Santa does.

TeapotCollection · 07/11/2025 19:35

It really was just one 😃

In a bit I’m going to have a coffee with Baileys in

Aldi do a clementine flavoured one, it’s an ok substitute for the orange truffle Baileys that you can’t get any more

I’m having a mince pie with cream as well

Baileys coffee used to be the only way I could get through writing endless year end 360 feedback guff. Not actually in the office, mind you……it’s a glorious drink and a lovely treat for December (or November). And generally not a gateway to lying in a gutter after three litres of White Lightning, whatever a PP was trying to suggest

goudacheese · 07/11/2025 20:06

Me and DH have started on the chocolate Baileys we bought last year but didn't open. It's delicious, better than normal Baileys in my opinion.

Is it the chocolate luxe one? That stuff is like crack 😂

If anyone hasn’t tried it, I make proper hot chocolate at this time of year (actual dark chocolate melted into milk) and add Amaretto. ‘Tis wonderful.

Also now thinking about Bailey’s and coco pops 😂😂
