I'm bringing you a facial machine...

My BF works in market research and sometimes gets products to trial with focus groups.

He's very excited to be able to bring me this facial thing to try, like he's doing something nice for me.

I like to think I'm presentable but my interest in "beauty" is limited to regular haircuts and supermarket moisturiser. I don't really know what this gadget is, an led mask?

AIBU to be a teensy bit insulted...?

If it's not for you then I would just decline. I would find it hard to see how to be insulted about this though. He's not suggesting you 'need it' is he? If not, then he's just trying to do something nice.

Ooh. Thrills. I love a facial machine. I've got an RF skin tightener, a little electric shock one and an LED one. If it's market research this might actually be something new, that works!! Jealous.

I would mostly be miffed that my boyfriend knew me so little as to not know I don't care much about beauty.

MTP but do let us know if it's any good OP.

He's been sent a product primarily aimed at women so has thought, oh I'll give it to my girlfriend to try. I don't see how that could possibly be insulting or imply he didn't know what you are into.

I see how you're insulted if he's bringing you something generic that 'wimmin tend to like' but it's not something you particularly like.

The message is 'you're a wimmin so you like this' and not 'I know you like this so I got this for you'

Like he's not paying attention to your interests.
