To ask Mums of December babies…

My niece was born last year just before Christmas & I’m starting to think about birthday & Christmas presents.

I was thinking of getting her a toy for her birthday present & then vouchers for a local soft play she likes for Christmas but I just wanted to check with mums of children born in December that you would be happy with getting vouchers rather than a present ?

I’ve not always had the easiest relationship with my SIL so I don’t want her to think we’ve not put any thought or effort into the present but equally I’m mindful that DN is going to be given a million toys in the space of less than a week.

I have a December baby ( well not a baby anymore). I'd appreciate vouchers for them, it's still thoughtful if the vouchers are for something they like. We have been overrun with toys some years and sometimes get 2 of the same thing.

Hi, my youngest has a 1st Feb birthday which almost feels comparable. When she was young I absolutely invited money for her savings/ vouchers etc! For older kids I’d still get a token pres and money in accounts. Kids don’t know the value of a bag of choccy buttons beyond them being delicious. They’ll de so grateful for a nest egg when time is right

I think it’s a lovely idea.

How old is the child? What about vouchers and a book or two for one gift? If it were me I'd give something with the vouchers.
