Doesn’t really affect me, but saw this on a street a couple of roads away…
London.
On street parking via resident or visitor permits (£200 a year for 1st resident car, 2nd or 3rd cars are much more ££)
Spaces are not guaranteed, even with a permit.
Generally there is enough parking for everyone. I occasionally have to park in the next street.
On the next street up, I walked past a house with a cone and a wheelie bin on the road saving a space with a sign on saying “Please don’t move the bin or cone. We need the space to charge our car. Thank you for your understanding”
I have noticed the cone and wheelie bin there a few times recently but don’t know if it is every day.
I think this is very cheeky. I wouldn’t choose an electric car as I don’t have the ability to charge it, as I can’t guarantee there will be a space outside my house (and I’d need to trail cables across the pavement)
YANBU Surely they don’t need to charge it all the time, and if they happen to not be able to get outside their house when it does need to be charged, there are multiple public charging points locally…ie on the same road about 2 mins walk away.
I’m suss that they are also using it as an excuse to get “their” space outside their house every night.
Or ,YABU it is fair enough as we are being encouraged to switch to electric cars. They probably aren’t doing it every night, and anyway, it’s not your problem really.
