10 years service not acknowledged

I've worked for the same company for 10 years - on either 2nd or 3rd of November. Gone into work today and nothing. How petty some of you may think, but considering another employee got recognition for 5 years service not too long ago with a nice bunch of flowers and chocs aibu to not feel slightly miffed?

At my workplace you get recognition at 5, 1,15, 20,25, 30, 35 and so on. There is a party every year where milestone anniversaries are recognised. You get a present and an extra day off at 5 and 10 years of service. So yanbu if someone was recognised and you weren’t.

Fair enough. But I am one person with one opinion and one set of experiences. Which are as valid as anyone else’s on an open forum. So tough luck if that bores you quite frankly.

Well, no. Because posts that evidence a basic grasp of logic are more "valid", actually.

I'll break it down slowly so you understand.

Saying "I've never had any recognition for length of service in any of my jobs, I didn't realise it was a thing" = fine. A factual statement based on your own experience.

Saying "I've never had any recognition for length of service in any of my jobs so surely it doesn't exist." = extrapolating with no logical or factual basis, therefore not a helpful/useful/"valid" point, not to mention ignorant and arrogant

If you are going to make a pompous point @tokennamechange , at least bother to actually get the correct post and now add your own flair to it I’ve never had any recognition of time served in any of my jobs. Surely that’s not a thing until you retire?

I agree with the crux of your point but delivery… shite
