Couldn’t she put her bin back herself

Today around 9am, it was bin day and after the bins were emptied, there was strong breezes.

I was driving out of my road. I had to stop to get a bin that blew onto the road. I just moved the bin to pavement in front of the house - number on bin.

As getting into my car to drive off the woman of the house opened her front door and yelled at me for touching her bin.

Why couldn’t she take the bin in herself? Bins were emptied 1-2 hours before.

What was I supposed to do? Drive over it to damage it and my car?

You can't go around touching others people's bins. She probably thought you were trying to steal it.

Seriously!?? It gets windy where I live and I am always picking up empty bins that have fallen over as I walk around the streets. I can't imagine that anyone who saw me would yell at me for doing so, or imagine in their wildest dreams that I was trying to steal one. Why on earth would anyone steal a bin Confused

It was in the road.

She is a stupid miserable bitch for yelling at you. Your actions were reasonable.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 03/11/2025 16:30

So what do you suggest she does with the bin in the middle of the road if she's not allowed to touch it?

Telekinesis, obviously.

Pretty sure the poster was being facetious

TheCurious0range · 04/11/2025 07:08

You live in a different place to me, she would've got a get your fucking bin out of the road then, here.

Maybe she's wheelie bin going through a rubbish time

😂😂😂

WonderingWanda · 04/11/2025 07:13

I would've yelled back at her.

ScaryM0nster · 04/11/2025 07:16

If she’s single digits in a curse sac, I’m going to guess her bin gets used by passers by and it infuriates her. Didn’t see that it was in the road and assumed you were yet another person filling up her bin.

Presumably you gave her a mouthful
back to explain why you touched her stupid bin? Or is MN wholly populated by utter wet flannels these days?

It's not even 8am yet, but I think you're safe.

People, I really think @didntlikeanyofthesuggestions was being funny.

Maybe it’s too early to laugh 🤷🏻‍♀️

IwishIhadcheese · 04/11/2025 07:42

This could be the start of a beautiful game of hide the bin with ransom notes 😉

…. Wow

every week I have to move practically every bin on the road as otherwise I can’t get my pram along the pavement. Are you saying I’m a serial bin-toucher and should walk on the road with my baby instead?

RessicaJabbit · 04/11/2025 07:44

Yeah im
sure everyone who takes a bin out of the road and puts it outside the house it belongs to looks like they are stealing it 🙄

I did!

Your bin was in the road. I don’t want to damage my car. Put your own bin away next time.

Then muttered lazy bitch as I jumped into the car and drove off

Telekinesis, obviously.

That's how I would have done it!

Seriously though, she sounds odd. I went to my mums last week. Half the food waste bins had blown into the road. So DC and I picked them up and put them back as we walked past.

So she should have....what? Not gone to work because an Untouchable Bin was blocking the road?

Don't be silly.
