Unexplained bruising for a year, now enlarged lymph node under ear

I have had unexplained bruising for a year now.

I had had numerous and various blood tests and have even paid privately for a Haematologist and they have all come back as "within normal ranges".

These include CBC and some other specific ones such as
Clotting screen
Nuclear blood test.
Complement test
ANCA screen

I have now discovered an enlarged pea size lymph node under my right ear and I am assuming the worst after Googling.

I have a telephone appointment booked on Tuesday and just wanted to know if anyone had suffered the same and everything was OK?

Many thanks x

I had them in my neck, was put on the two week cancer pathway. I had to have my tonsils removed because they were holding on to infection. I had a few lymph nodes removed as well. My DD gets the behind the ear ones, she has endocrine issues and her thyroid levels are up and down. Have you got the facility to send photos to your GP? I got covid in September and had swollen lymph nodes/glands, sent a picture and got sent to A&E but via the rapid access ward.

Hi I just looked in the mirror and I can't really see it.
But it's definitely pea sized and is movable.

I think the GP will just send me for a blood test again.
Sorry to hear about your tonsils, hopefully your better now.
Its strange as it's only underaged on the one side?

My husband sometimes gets an enlarged lymph node behind his ear if he's fighting something off, like a cold.

. A pea sized unmovable lump can often be a sign of metastacised cancer. If it’s movable it’s more likely to be something benign

In the nicest possible way, it's clear you must have extreme health anxiety, and if the doctors and other medical experts who have checked you over can't reassure you, how on earth do you think people online who don't know anything about you can do anything to help?

worriedpig · 02/11/2025 17:26

@ByShyRaven yes it movable, but only on the one side.

It’s incredibly unlikely you have had cancer for a year with nothing showing up in multiple blood tests.
