Does anyone know if I can dispute an Amazon payment with my bank?

So I had a faulty dualit toaster from Amazon, sent it back using their return label. Post office had to open the box at the post office and fill something out saying it was a toaster which they did. Amazon claim they got a different toaster back and have have taken the refund back. I’m furious. Customer service won’t talk t me about it, say there’s nothing they can do as it’s down to the returns resolution manager who has made this decision. I’m £80 out of pocket.

Call your bank and discuss it. I think that's the only way to know what their reaction will be. Document everything, be specific on dates and comms. I think of myself as the refund queen, but you do have to be thorough and organised

Thanks. I’ll have to ring. I’m furious with Amazon

Barclays say I can dispute the payment tomorrow and I may or I may not get it back. But my brother has warned me if I get it back Amazon may ban me. Because in their view I will be the thief/scammer.

so now i don’t know what to do. Either someone in Royal Mail or Amazon has switched the toaster. Far more likely someone in the Amazon warehouse. And I’m £80 out of pocket and now too scared to contest it!

i use amazon like 5x a week, I can’t risk being banned.

Amazon stole from you though
find another website
This is your calling to end your Amazon addiction

Do you have a banking app? I recently disputed an entry via my app by finding the transaction and clicking into it. A link the took me to a form and was resolved very quickly by NatWest.

I would try resolving it with Amazon first, their live chat is usually really helpful. I think the chances of you being banned are very slim!

They won’t talk to me. The woman I spoke to earlier said she can’t resolve it and can’t discuss it. Basically I’ve been labelled as a thief/scammer.

Ive tweeted this evening and had a response asking for more details but not holding my breath.

found an interesting bbc article and a chat forum full of people who’d ordered stuff like iPhones and got icing sugar delivered and banned when they complained. No refund until the bbc got involved. Basic message is there are thieves in the Amazon warehouses. Amazon do nothing about their dishonest employees and blame customers instead

[email protected] Email the CEO, don’t bother with CS anymore. Andy Jassy.

Thank you. Will send an email. I’ve also emailed jeff@ amazon.com. I’m sure it doesn’t actually go to Bezos but apparently it is monitored.
