Am I right or wrong about this for Mumsnet?

For some reason, I have always felt as though given the fact that this site is predominantly British the posters are a lot more civilised and less radical/argumentative than if it was a predominantly American site.

just imagine an American site like MumsNet, discussing loads of different topics.

Twitter is a perfect example of how Americans tend to be more argumentative, conflicted and radical than Brits, but I wonder how American posters would differ when talking about ordinary non-political matters.

But, then again, there are lots of British posters here that are snarky and passive-aggressive which is not something that are Americans are typically like.

What do you think?

You’re kidding right?

It’s all in the moderation, isn’t it?

I uses to be on a US crafting message board which had expanded into a general lifestyle board.

Lots of women asking about "conservative radio stations" and such like, talking about their careers as nurses and secretaries. I remember one woman concerned that her son wouldn't cut his hair and she was worried that this would hold him back at work and he might not be allowed into foreign countries. It turned out that her son was an engineer in his 30s.

The US is a continent with as many different cultures as Europe. They all consider themselves to be true Americans but the way in which they express this varies so much. Not everyone is a shouty twat.

are you for real? 🤣

Yeah since Moved to the states I've literally not been able to have a single civilized conversation without ranting and raving. You have to sign a contract at the border.

I think the right people to answer this would be American MNers.

There'll be some along soon.

Uk survives on snark and sarcasm, we're also very likely to call a cunt a cunt because there is a point we have little time for other peoples bollocks... but we're not generally violent or overtly 'abusive' with it.

I've been on LOADS of US based forums before and they're just vicious, and also talk about God a lot.
