Neighbours dogs

My neighbours have lived here for 40+ years. I moved in at the start of the year.

Since I moved in the neighbours dogs (I think it's one in particular) barks at everything that goes past and other things in-between. They let the dogs sit in the window despite the barking at anything that moves, I clouding vehicles and people getting in and out of their vehicles. It means the dog barks every twenty minutes or so from morning until around 11pm at night. They're usually quick at shutting the dog up and I regularly hear them get exasperated at the dog. The walls are thin and after I've been disturbed for the 40th time that day, I usually let out a 'for fucks sake'. Is there anything they can do to stop the dogs from barking?

Report to the local council.
Ime they wrote to the ndn. Ime the barking stopped 90%of the time.
If the letter is ignored they put recording devices in the front room and the bedroom that joins ndn. I do know a couple who were court ordered to get rid of their yappy fucker.. Get reporting tomorrow op.

I only moved in in the summer. I had issues with dogs barking next door at my previous property too.

This morning I've been working from home and since 9am they've been barking with only ten minute intervals. They're really doing my head in. If I'm on a call to a client, they'll hear the dogs. The neighbours shout at the dogs to no effect. After probably the thirtieth barking frenzy in 45 minutes I shouted at them to shut the fucking dogs up. The walls are quite thin and the neighbour said something back.

I went to the council with my previous neighbour and after a few years of trying to negotiate with her over the frequency of the dogs barking, it eventually quietened down, although we were no longer on speaking terms. I don't want this with my new neighbours. She's screaming at the dogs to shut up now. They've lived there for 30+ years. I wonder how the previous tenants of my property got on with them. It's a nightmare. I'm waiting for the next barking frenzy to start all the time and I'm on alert. They've obviously never trained the dogs.

I had a spaniel who could be a bit reactive to some people outside, in particular anyone in high viz which was difficult when living on a new build estate where houses were still going up. I put window film up in the kitchen which blurred his view and completely covered the glass panel in the front door so he couldn’t see out any more. He soon stopped.

Perhaps suggest something like that to them. There are lots of window films that allow light in but obscure the view of the outside.

I feel for you though, we once lived in a house where the neighbours would go to work all day, shutting their two dogs in an upstairs room where they’d spend all day barking at anything that went past.

@Iheartmysmart they let their dogs sit in the window. I'm losing my shit at them today. It puts me off working from home.
