Hi I was out doing gardening yesterday and pulling out weeds ect. We recently just moved into our house and there was some long plants needing binned so as I’m binning these and the weeds I felt a burn/ sting on my hand and it looked circular.

i immediately ran into my house and washed my hands as this burn was stinging. I went back outside to look to see if I could see what caused this but nothing I could see apart from a small snail.

my skin has a layer missing in this wound and now left with fresh skin underneath sometimes wet and still burning sensation I feel a bit numb now on my thumb and it’s day 2.

i will pop to the chemist tomorrow as it’s Saturday and I’ll ask for some advice or pop to a&e.

does anyone know what this could be?

I noticed the grammar police are here. Sorry not sorry for your confusion lol as a Scottish person who lives at the top of Scotland and 99% speaks and writes in Gaelic I did try and make sense in English. As most of you all would write pop or whatever. Anyway I’m too busy to pop to a&e I’m not bothered about myself that much and I’ll survive a tiny burn on my hand. So you can all calm down now lol

Pop was my Dad.

I hope it doesn't get worse, sudocrem and/or a burn plaster will help.

Was it sap from any of these https://www.gardenersworld.com/how-to/grow-plants/plants-with-irritant-sap/

You need to wear gloves in future.

Just out of interest, wasn't white vinegar on it sore? It doesn't sound very soothing.

Keep it clean and dry and if you are worried about it spreading should it become infected then draw a line around it so you can tell.

Our chemist is helpful for things like this under the minor ailments.

Sounds like euphorbia sap, if so the area will be sensitive to UV and will need SPF to stop it burning. Did you pull up something that looked like this?
