I consider myself to have really good taste in music. Serious artists. Credible stuff.

But even I can’t deny that the K Pop Demon Hunter’s songs as are succession of top quality pop bangers.

Total ear worms.

Congratulations to all involved.

Hard agree from me. Love belting them with my kids in the car (and alone!). Except soda pop. Golden is my fave and I wish I could sing it well!!

labtest57 · 21/10/2025 22:06

I love Golden. Don't know any others

QueenMummyTheFirst · 21/10/2025 22:07

Yes! Bloody love all the songs.

But then I do like some quite unfashionable music - I love musicals in general!

Bringemout · 21/10/2025 22:11

Love it, DH also loves it as does mini Bringemout. Agree about lead vocalist , extraordinary voice.

BunfightBetty · 21/10/2025 22:12

I was SURE I'd hate this. Took DD to the singalong at the cinema expecting to be really bored and I loved it! So many great choons.

ObliviousCoalmine · 21/10/2025 22:12

Sara050 · 21/10/2025 21:41

God it's awful. Sounds like it's all been written and sung by AI.

Yes this. Like those awful covers you get in Superdrug.

liveforsummer · 21/10/2025 22:15

DD 12 is one of the snotty ones. She is horrified when it comes on the radio and dd15 and I turn it up and sing. I’m yet to watch the movie as the hater complains!

seasid · 21/10/2025 22:20

My son is autistic and this is his current special interest (to the point we are watching it at least twice a day). I’ve never been into k-pop but after watching this, I’m obsessed myself. Is it sad that I’ve added some of the songs to my car playlist and I sing along even when my child isn’t with me?😂

SparkyBlue · 21/10/2025 22:25

Absolutely agree with you OP. A Rumi costume arrived for 6 year old DD today and major excitement in the house now as she is dressing up for school on Thursday before they break up for the mid term break

I absolutely love it, me and DD7 love watching it (whilst DH and DD12 scoff)

What It Sounds Like is my favourite, and agree the lead female vocalist has an incredible voice.

Also, I KNOW he is anime, but Hello Jinu 😘

Lilyhatesjaz · 21/10/2025 22:38

I love it too. The film is brilliant and I love the songs. I am in my 50s definitely not the target audience.

leftorrightnow · 21/10/2025 22:40

My 11 year old agrees! To me it all sounds r the same. She’s obsessed though! So glad to hear she has taste

InOverMyHead84 · 21/10/2025 22:42

I say this as a lover of particularly pretentious metal music.

KPop Demon Hunters fucking slams! A great shared treat with my DDs.

GarlicBreadStan · 22/10/2025 02:51

KPop Demon Hunters means more to me than I can even express.

I am trying to learn all of the lyrics to all of the songs, I listen to the soundtrack on repeat, and I am quite literally dedicating my days to perfecting how I sound when I sing the songs.

Music is already a massive part of my life (has been since I was a kid. It's the only thing I've ever been consistently interested in and attached to) and that bloody film (affectionately, of course) has only fuelled it further. I adore it.

DollopOfFun · 22/10/2025 02:55

We're in Seoul at the moment, I love it all but I think if my husband never hears one of them again it will be too soon.

YankSplaining · 22/10/2025 04:21

I thought the movie wasn’t that great, but the songs were fun and catchy. YANBU.

whatflite · 22/10/2025 05:04

Yup. It stays on in the car after I’ve dropped the kids off

whatflite · 22/10/2025 05:10

I would also add that I don’t think it should be written off as fluffy crap either. Lots of layers through the narrative, imagery. I’m not a musician but apparently it’s there in the music too (e.g. Golden goes up up up and that same chord progression is reflected in What it sounds like but down down down (don’t quote me)).

I read a good article on NYT about how the film also includes the audience as a main character in their own right - ie involves them as a central part of the story reflecting Eastern culture focus on the community rather than the individual. Love that too

WhiteAmericanoNoSugar · 22/10/2025 07:03

Can I ask those with primary aged children how they know all the songs? The film is not meant to age-appropriate. Are your kids searching the songs on youtube? Can you recommend any?

@WhiteAmericanoNoSugar All of the family primary aged children have watched it. And I've seen on multiple threads that the films has been played in their DC primary school x

Edit to say my 2.5yo loved it so we took him and his little 4yo friend to the sing a long at the cinema and they had a blast x

It's a PG, it's fine for primary-aged children.

My 6 year old and 4 year old adore it. The demons are not scary (They are oppressed in the narrative, so just look a bit goofy) My wife and I watched it first and aside from a little mild lusting over the boy band characters by the girls there wasn't anything I would consider challenging.

The theme towards the film's end of being unable to fight negativity with more negativity struck me as brilliant. A great message for the little ones.

I’m very much hoping that this is a joke..

ShelltheOnions · 21/10/2025 21:48

Are you a demon?

😂😂😂😂

RightOnTheEdge · 22/10/2025 09:46

Right, you've made up my mind! I've been wanting to watch this since it came out but my 14yr old dd kept laughing at me and ds 13 is not interested.

I am going to get cosy on the sofa and watch it by myself. It seems like a fun way to escape the world for a while.
