Andrew shouldn’t lose his titles

KindCompassion · 21/10/2025 15:44

Removing Prince Andrew’s titles legally will take up a lot of Parliament’s precious time that could be better spent changing the law to ensure that men like Epstein who raped 13-15 year old girls pre 2004 can actually now be prosecuted.
They cannot at the moment. It is the Jimmy Savile loop hole. Most of his victims were this age because he knew after 12 months he had got away with raping them.

The Ministry of Justice and Sarah Sackman MP, the Minister responsible are ignoring this.

Am I unreasonable for saying we shouldn’t waste time stripping his titles, and instead insist that child rapists are prosecuted?

Thousands of women abused as children may be unable to get justice due to legal anomaly

I think stripping him of his titles is performative. The damage to his reputation is done.

I agree. He will always be the Queen's son anyway.
I agree with op. Also British police need to get that Epshite list from the us and the testimonies and persécuté each and every mtfkr that was part of it and that can be investigated here. If they did it on orgy island am sure they did it elsewhere. And the need to investigate this gonad (Andrew) without fear or favour

I’m actually a victim who will never get justice because of this loophole. Thanks.

Anyone who read your OP and thought you were posting in support of him is completely, unbearably thick.

No he ought to be stripped of his titles and evicted from Royal Lodge. Maybe as a warning that it can be done and royals aren't untouchable

If they aren't untouchable, then what makes them Royal ?

PrestonHood121 · 21/10/2025 17:44

I am willing to bet Andrew is still making the staff on Royal grounds call him HRH, Duke, the lot. And the Royal Family will allow him to keep it up.

nomas · 21/10/2025 18:02

He has already effectively lost his titles, except Prince.

He seems to have only committed to pay £8.5m for a 75 year lease for a hugely valuable property, which is bloody cheap for what the property is, robbing the public purse of millions.

So he has got off easy.

unsync · 21/10/2025 18:02

At the moment it's trial by media/public opinion. If there is sufficient evidence, he should be prosecuted and take the consequences of that. Just as any other person who commits a criminal act should be. The whole titles, house etc is just clouding the issue. As far as I am concerned, we live in a democracy, due process should therefore be followed. Kangaroo Courts have no place in this country.

XWKD · 21/10/2025 18:26

The fact that there were others who got away with it is irrelevant. He is an embarrassment, and a stain on the Royal Family. I can't see the monarchy lasting unless the RF is seen to behave decently. Future generations won't "doff the cap to their betters".

nowweare · 21/10/2025 18:28

It is not irrelevant, it’s very relevant indeed.

It is real not seeing the woods for the trees. While we are spluttering and squawking about him, others are sitting comfortable.

Melonjuice · 21/10/2025 18:29

I don’t believe anyone can lose their birth right at the end of the day he was born the son of a king so therefore he is a prince
however, he should be in bloody jail, he is disgusting and that email was sickening

HedwigEliza · 21/10/2025 18:31

It’s a waste of time getting worked up about this.

Will removing his titles actually accomplish anything? No. He’ll always be a prince.

And he hasn’t done anything illegal. Distasteful and immoral, but not illegal. So all this hyperbole about wanting to see him in court is laughable.

nowweare · 21/10/2025 18:32

Distasteful and immoral, but not illegal

Quite yes. Everything that can be done has been done. Mostly by him.

But what's the alternative if he's protected from ever actually facing any kind of fair judicial trial?

He hasn’t broken any laws.

The rest of the royal family as a whole are very far from virtuous, though. Charles was a very close friend of Savile, and the late Queen behaved abominably towards her very vulnerable cousins.

Unicorn34 · 21/10/2025 18:43

I think he should be kicked out of his free accommodation and made to pay for his crimes like anyone else would have to.

If there is evidence of wrongdoing sufficient that the CPS thinks a prosecution will be successful, then he should be prosecuted. This is the system we all live by. You can't just single out one person because of entitlement/prejudice/bias and insist they are punished for perceived wrongdoing. Which laws has he actually broken? His behaviour may be sleazy and distasteful, but was it illegal?

Stillspotty · 21/10/2025 18:53

With cross party agreement, the removal of his titles could be done in hours, not months. All MPs would have to resist performative speechmaking, and just vote.

Alternatively, Govt can and do guillotine Bills to get them through quickly.

I think it should be done, to give a singnal that an agreement among brothers not to use the titles is not enough. He's still the Duke of York. I think the daughters should lose their titles too, nothing against them personally, but if a title is stripped it should properly end, so no inheriting titles.

Autumngirl5 · 21/10/2025 18:56

The hysteria over this is ridiculous. Of course he has been very stupid, should be completely ashamed of himself and is a horrible individual but he has not actually been charged with anything. I would not want the government to spend more time on taking his titles away. He has given them up so hopefully he will move abroad and this is an end to it.

Topseyt123 · 21/10/2025 18:57

I think he should be officially stripped of his titles. He should also be made to vacate Royal Lodge. He could live in Nott Cott at Kensington Palace.

Vitriolinsanity · 21/10/2025 18:57

Half the bloody country was duped by Saville, I don’t think Charles can be held accountable unless you’ve got proof he actually evidenced the atrocities committed.

As ti Andrew. He can keep his titles in return for answering the questions he’s managed to dodge for years, if he’s nothing to hide why not cough up and dob the lot in?

Otherwise, it’s a waste of Parliamentary time to make this permanent.

Id much prefer if he were now booted from RL and fucked off to Balmoral estate (sorry Scotland) or Dubai (not sorry Dubai it’s retribution for all those ghastly hotels built on modern day slavery). And takes his greedy ex-wife with him.

He has given up using them in public. I'd be willing to bet that he still makes his staff use them behind closed doors.

I also think PA is coming under such close scrutiny that we are missing other powerful and wealthy men who will have abused those girls.

PA may be the best known but that doesn’t mean the others should be allowed to get away with it.

The best known in this country certainly I'll wager there's a fair few famous Americans that were also involved.
PA wasn't Epstein's only visitor.

paneintheglass25 · 21/10/2025 19:45

Have all of the people commenting & voting misread the ops post…? The Op is saying don’t waste scarce parliamentary time on Andrew’s flipping titles - instead shut the Jimmy Saville loophole so men who have raped underage girls can be brought to justice regardless of when the rape took place. Having read the Virginia Giuffre extracts in the Guardian I imagine there are a whole host of men who will not want that to happen.

Theunamedcat · 21/10/2025 19:53

Sagaciously · 21/10/2025 17:01

I wasn’t aware this has taken up any parliamentary time to date as he’s volunteering to not use his titles, as opposed to being formally stripped of them.

It hasn't but there are many many petitions and people calling for it and i think unless he is actually convicted its a waste of time
