What a woman! Her voice gets me everytime. I saw a brilliant documentary a long time ago. Such a sad life but he talents were just incredible.

Yes!! She had a very unique voice which I didnt appreciate until I listened to some of her music a few years back . She was superb

Cynthia Gibb played Karen very well I always thought.

Her parents didn't seem to appreciate her...they pushed Richard forward as he was the "boy". She was just a girl.

Her voice was effortless- beautiful timbre in every single note. Like listening to velvet! Such a talent ( she was also a gifted drummer) and such a tragic end.

I am a huge fan of The Carpenters and have been since listening to their records as a child. I was gutted last year that Richard cancelled his UK tiur due to ill health. Karen’s voice was truly unique. Absolutely perfection and a huge loss to the world when she died.

She had a very good voice and I like the work she did but I wouldn't say her voice was extraordinary.

There are a number of singers who were/are simply better, both in terms of power and vocal range. I don't think she gets anywhere close to Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey or Aretha Franklin for example.

I think she would make a lot of top 100 singers of all time lists but not a lot of top 10.
