15 month old speech and development

Hi, bit of background firstly, my daughter developed a metopic ridge around 3 month old so we are under a Pediatrician until she’s two.

she’s just turned 15 months old and I can’t stop worrying about her speech. She says mama, oh ho, b-bye and that’s it.
she does babble but she’s mainly just says baba all the time.

she can, clap, wave, blow kisses, touch her head when asked and show me her tongue when asked, will play peek-a-boo and shows me how big she is.

when I call her name she responds 25% of the time, it’s better if we are in a room with no noise when I speaking to her but I feel like sometimes I’m talking to her and she’s completely absent.

i have noticed some hand flapping, walking backwards and swinging her arms
again not sure If it’s just normal toddler behaviour

seriously am I been paranoid because the pediatrician has told me all the things to watch out for that maybe I’m looking for problems, does my 15 month old just sound like a 15 month old or do you think there could be an issue?

She's 15 months. Chill.

My child had 4 words at 2, yes, no, moma, dada. He's now 5 and absolutely brilliant.

She sounds like a 15 month old. 3 words by 15 months is, I believe, one of the milestones.

If you continue to think her response is better in a quiet room, the first thing to have tested is her hearing (even if she seems to hear well, toddler hearing issues can be tricky). But her understanding of language sounds on track to me.

It sounds like you're worried about autism from the signs you've listed (eg hand flapping) - none of them are signs of autism in a child under 18 months who are still learning to use their bodies fully. Some can be signs of autism in an older child when combined with other issues with social communication. The thing to look for in younger children is pointing, which should be present by 18 months.

She’s not even 1 and a half yet. It’s so completely normal for children to have less than 5 words (this can include signs) until 2/2.5.

My daughter could say mummy, daddy, dummy, baby and more by 2 and that was it. By 3 you could have full conversations with her and now at 5 she’s giving me a headache with now much she talks😂 I really wouldn’t worry until atleast 2 if not longer. They definitely won’t make any speech and language referrals until closer to 3 and usually no autism/adhd referrals until after unless you go private.

Ohh I didn’t realise that 3 words at 15 months was a milestone, it’s made me feel better with your experiences thank you

I wouldn’t say I was worried about autism I think I’m worried that the metopic ridge is causing some harm and without a CT scan we can’t know. It’s just keeping an eye on her and signs to look for.

I have requested an earring test I’m waiting on her dr getting back to me. it sounds like I’m definitely jumping gun,
I can relate with the headache I have a 5 year old girl too and she doesn’t stop hahaha
