Should I buy this maisonette

Hello just want thoughts to start I want to come out of rental but I'm now 55 years of age and my partner is 49 so we are trying to keep payments on a mortgage around level we pay now in rent our age and financial situation and short length of time we need to pay mortgage over means we have a very low budget and with this it means we'll we can't get anywhere near the best so probably can't be very fussy.
Anyway seen a geoun floor maisonette which we loved with loads of storage and it's own private garden however it's up the top of a main road on corner near traffic lights which leads onto another main road there is a grass verge fence and trees alongside of garden and on the road the lights lead onto there are shops one is a barbers one a electric training company that back onto the garden although garden is long enough so that they are not in your face and there is a gate bottom of garden to take bins out around the front and the gate opens into a square fenced off area. The area around the flat isn't great but not shocking and I'm not aware of issues there. Sorry if I've rambled and not made things clear but would you buy this flat

Must add that when your sitting in the garden there is obviously some road noise but more at certain times of day than other but in the flat you hear nothing and I'm not one to use the garden anyway.

I'm just moving from a flat on the main road. It's been fine. Hardly hear anything at all from the road with the windows shut. Had no problems selling it either. It was sold within 4 weeks.

What you think about shops backing onto it

What is an "Electric Training Company"? Does it involve engineering, machinery?

Somewhere to sit out in the sun✅

Handy for shops✅

Storage (can never have too much)✅

Road noise..you get deaf to it really quickly..🤷

Sounds like you would need off road parking. Consider security, how visible is the maisonette from publicly accessible paths etc.
How good is the soundproofing inside from the other maisonette (s) -this is a deal killer.
Otherwise what's not to love.

Not sure it's a small shop advertising electrical and gas courses I may pop in as my dp is interested in that training so I can get a idea that way.

May have a 2nd viewing I mean it's visible from the side but there are trees and fencing along that side of the garden

I think I'd want to know the trading hours of any businesses close by in case of noise or traffic at unsociable hours and also how trade might impact parking.

Well the front of the maisonette is tucked away in a road just off the main road and just before the lights leading onto the next main road.
There is parking in front of the maisonette as its not on any main roads its down a street off them but the road runs alongside of it.
