To think work are trying to buy me out?

The very short version is that they placed me on a PIP, failed me and I came back to them highlighting how out of policy the entire process had been.

They’ve now turned around and offered me a significant amount for me to leave. I am leaving and I would have left with or without the money, but I can’t help feeling they are scared?

They're not scared but they want rid of you quickly without going through the hassle of a process.

Generally best to take the money if it's a decent sum.

It's pretty much normal practice because no-one wants the hassle of possible tribunal claims, and they'll insist on a settlement agreement which bars any further action.

Do your research, negotiate on the amounts and ensure you also get a good reference as part of the agreement, but it's usually a decent result. And if you can, take gardening leave for your notice period.

It’s decent, but I feel I could negotiate slightly higher. The reference is not an issue and has been worked in.

Did your performance fall below par before they placed you on a pip?

I'm assuming you aren't in a union as you've not mentioned one.

Do you have 2 years service?
