Worries that my ASD and ADHD child well young person in their early 20's is very young in all areas .
Worried that they are stuck at home not very independent very nervous and worried that they may turn into a Frank Spencer type character 😔
Finds social situations difficult
Is very nervous physically in dropping things
Worries what people think of them
Struggled in college and school.
Have tried online learning but can't concentrate at home.
Worried about the future.
Thinking that part time volunteering would be better along with their mental health care under the NHS .
Worried that they are on their own at home apart from a younger sibling

Worried that it is so tough out in the real world and employment paid or voluntary.
Not a pushy parent just need to push them along but so young in their outlook like a child going out in the world know it doesn't sound very nice but it is exactly like this
Is any one else is in a similar position?

I get your worries. Mine too.

Seetraline and ADHD meds were both game changers.

I have an AUDHD DD16. I understand your concerns. My experience is that building confidence is key. Is there anything they really like? Gardening? Cooking etc?

Yes this is true.

We started just taking her to family gatherings. She wouldn’t talk at first. Now she does. Then we moved onto her ordering stuff at a bar ( this took a very long time).

Them catching a bus ( she still doesn’t like it but she does it)

She started uni last month. She is talking to people and managing. This was unthinkable a year ago.

Likes books you tube and music
Did like reading to small children at the library during college some thing to look at 🙂

DD is AuDHD and 16 and exactly like this, i worry about her future so much. After being out of any type of education setting for three and a half years she started college in September. It’s a tiny college which i’m hoping will help build her confidence and social skills. She is desperate to make friends.

They are under NHS recovery college and medicine which is good.
Wants to help people so think will look at volunteering help social skills and interactions
Going to forget the bug bear of attempting functional maths skills last couple of years 😃

That's sounds so similar to my daughter
Hoping the recovery college will support her and the NHS 🩷
Think will forget about her qualifications for a while and look at her social skills and interactions 🙂 build up.some connections is quite isolating we don't have a big family unit x
