To think most people at the immigration protests and putting up flags are men and chavvy men at that?

I barely see any women doing any of this. Certainly at the protest near me each weekend, there are about twenty people and only two are women of what I can see. They all are of a certain ilk.

i don’t agree with any of the anti migration racist flag raisers, hotel protesting lot but I do think it’s the same group of people who were affected by the closing of the pits, obliteration of the steel industry, who suffered the worst of austerity, who were convinced to vote for Brexit, and now have the migrant hotels on their doorstep!

They might not meet all the criteria, but I bet they meet at least one of those, they have been let down by successive Govts of various colours and they have had enough!

What I don’t get is why they think Nigel Garage is the answer to their problems! He’s shafted them once with Brexit, why do they believe he’ll fix things now? 🤷‍♀️

This! Exactly this!

beaniebabby · 10/10/2025 22:48

Reform seem pretty popular on MNs and this is meant to be a middle class site

Paddington5 · 10/10/2025 22:51

I think Labour got in as everyone had given up on Tories and Farage will get in in desperation because we’re giving up on Labour -I mean they have to fix immigration, welfare bills and get businesses going and they’ve swopped 26 migrants with France whilst they are still arriving at a rate of 1,000 a day -you couldn’t make it up! And chickened out of cutting benefits and increased NI so small businesses are failing -again -you couldn’t make it up!

Hacklicker · 10/10/2025 22:53

The agitators - Farage, Hopkins et al are predominantly middle class, and are truly evil. They make a lot of money and gain a lot of influence by manipulating people who are generally (not exclusively) poorly educated, economically disadvantaged and politically disenfranchised. There's a reason they prey on no-hopers who need to believe there's an easy solution (like bashing immigrants) to their problems - because those are the people who fall for it.

Paddington5 · 10/10/2025 22:55

They’re not looking for an easy solution -they’re desperate for someone/ anyone to fix things

Then why aren't they voting for parties like the greens, who consistently run on a platform of investment in local communities? It's because they like the easy fantasy that someone else is causing their problems.

How many of these arseholes putting up flags do you actually think are doing anything at all in their communities? How many of them are befriending the elderly, volunteering in youth groups, litter picking etc? Or are they actually, for the most part, feckless twats who like the odd opportunity to run riot and shout racist things and feeling like it gives them some kind of status.

You've obviously never heard of the Epping Pink Ladies, have you OP?

Paddington5 · 10/10/2025 23:03

im in Scotland and hate the greens -their transgender policies and handing millions to foreign investment companies to swathe the countryside in conifer monocultures (AND allow the companies to reap the profits in 25 years time ) -idiots

crumpetswithcheeze · 10/10/2025 23:07

I have kids to entertain, and they’re not of an age that would find protests entertaining, otherwise I’d be there.

But you understand we’re heading towards a climate crisis right?

That’s another issue altogether but pretending it isn’t coming isn’t going to to stop it!

They don't feel shafted by Brexit.

You hate the greens transgender policies but how do you feel about Farage voting against bills aiming to tackle revenge porn, sexual harassment in the work place and upskirting? Or his support of sex trafficker Andrew Tate? Or the fact that 20% of reforms originally elected MPs have convictions for violence against women, and that Farage dismissed these as 'irrelevant'?

Sorry, this should have been a reply to @Paddington5

HauntedBungalow · 10/10/2025 23:24

They're fascists. These are fascist marches.

Thepeopleversuswork · 10/10/2025 23:27

I agree. But loads of people will be along shortly to tell you that you are woke and racist.

BernardButlersBra · 10/10/2025 23:30

100%. Plus people who are educationally challenged shall we say.

The ones in London last month were feral

CrispsPlease · 10/10/2025 23:31

This thread is appalling.

"Gammon"

"Thick"

"Low class"

"Chav"

Actually some of the most unworldly wise people I've ever met are uni graduates.

There's an awful lot of snobbery and classism/elitism on this thread and it's abhorrent.

Side note: I think mass illegal immigration needs to be curbed.that includes economic migrants masquerading as "refugees".Only the naive cannot see the problems they're bringing in.

  • that said. I fully support and encourage legal immigration and will stand beside any decent legal working and contributing migrants who feels intimidated and unwanted because of flag wielding designed to bring anti immigrant sentiment.

There are many middle class people and women and ethnic minorities that also are against what I'm against. But if they're of a higher social standing (I e professional job) they risk their registration or reputation by involving themselves publicly with things like this. Doesn't mean they automatically disagree.

People using these disgusting words to describe working class white males need to Google the word "hypocrisy".

rockstarshoes · 10/10/2025 23:52

No but they should!

It's probably the opposite. Feeling that Farage delivered for them whereas other parties have ignored their wishes. Labour ditched the working class long ago, Tories lied to them, Farage delivers.

BernardButlersBra · 11/10/2025 00:24

@TicklishReader yeah, some stuff you can't unsee! They are one of them

Panpots · 11/10/2025 00:27

RunSlowTalkFast · 10/10/2025 21:30

I wouldn't say poorest and most excluded. All the men I know who voted reform are self-employed tradesmen who earn at least double the national average but avoid paying tax on a lot of it, because obviously they care so much about their country 🙄

good point!

Sportsdaywinner · 11/10/2025 00:35

Jamesblonde2 · 10/10/2025 22:11

I am degree educated and agree with their views. I just can’t be bothered to go out protesting as I have things to do. But good for them that they’re not being quiet about it.

Same here.

Absolutely vile.

I’ve seen some clips from a. Video where this black guy goes undercover interviewing them and wow the hate they spewed.

Of course he will have picked only certain ones to show on his video compilation, but the fact there’s still so many of them freely espousing those views at the protest is awful.

Their fellow protestors didn’t bat an eyelid.
