To be upset about this hair?

I’ve had beautiful (in my opinion) blonde balayage hair for the last 3 years. My hairdresser is very talented at blonde, but I decided I wanted copper for autumn. I showed her a picture, and she put a toner on it which was nice enough, not quite what I wanted but fine. However after 2 washes it had faded to a dull light brown. I went in 2 weeks later to get something longer lasting on it, and I absolutely hate it 😭 it’s nothing like the picture, it’s flat, has really red tones rather than copper and it’s so dark!

AIBU to think this is way off the mark?

I sympathise though, I had copper through dark blonde and looked like Cilla. Now that was a low point.

Update - went back, full consultation with a senior stylist. Through some digging it seems that I’ve been wanting a warmer blonde, but because my normal stylist just kept making it bright blonde I’ve swung the other way with the copper which has been completely misinterpreted as auburn. They removed the red colour, put a golden toner on it and it’s pretty much exactly what I’ve been wanting all along. Got a bag of free shampoo, conditioner and hair oil as well to say thanks for letting them fix it!

Moral of the story - stand up for yourself!

I think the blonde looks best on you actually. Agree the wavy, light brown looks washed out. The darker brown is fine but nothing like the photo you showed them. If you’re not happy go back but I’m not sure they’d fix it again for free.

Sounds like a thorough consultation, will you be seeing the senior stylist going forward instead of the usual one? Seems like they get what you want better.
