Just eat customer service 😡

I have a disability and use Just Eat regularly for groceries. Every now and then there’s a missing item and I contact Just Eat and they refund no problem. All good.
However yesterday, half of my order was missing. My DH was home so he ran out to the driver and asked him to check if there was another bag as only half had come. He said that was all he had been given. I then complained to Just Eat who have refused to refund for the missing items. They said as I’ve previously had issues and missing items they will no longer refund for missing items?! I’ve even instant messaged them to see if I got a different response.

Has anyone had this and had any luck? It’s not even about the money but the principle I have paid for half a shop that wasn’t there!

what else can I do?

Just Eat did the same to a family member.

I think some people have been quite rude on here to you as well. I don’t leave the house so everything I need is generally delivered. My husband and son do a food shop once a week at the supermarket but when they are at work or out, delivery services are my only option.

Whoosh is definitely worth a try.

I actually found whoosh much quicker than deliveroo, and a bit cheaper. The only issue is that there is a limit on how many items you can order and the range is quite limited. It’s good if you only need a few last minute items though.

I wouldn’t use any of the express delivery services on a regular basis because it’s really expensive. Even the supermarket options like whoosh and Sainsburys chop chop charge premium prices, and Asda charge a whopping £8 for delivery on their express service.

Thank you for those of you who have been helpful. For those of you who have been less than helpful, let’s hope you never end up disabled and needing service like this.
To answer a few questions:
DH was not due back from work until late but ended up coming home early but I had already ordered.
of course I won’t use Just Eat anymore but in principle I’d like my £10 back.

Just eat are shite. I ordered a few things to a hotel I was staying at, went to meet the driver, did laps around the hotel and their 2 parking lots but assumed we kept missing each other as I said I was coming to him but he kept moving. He told me he was at reception, asked for the code to leave it with them then closed the chat. I never got my order.

I put in a claim with just eat who said as I gave the code over I wouldn’t get a refund so I went via my bank. They declined my refund but sent me just eats email with the tracking details and map from the driver. It showed he was at the wrong bloody building. 2 hotels next door to each other, completely different names and different addresses. Thanks to this email I was able to reply to just eats “proof” of delivery by pointing out that the map proved my order was delivered to the wrong place so I got my money back.

haven’t ordered again and never will.

Try through your bank and see if you get anywhere.

My favourite is when they ask you to send a photo of the missing items.

Chalk it up to experience OP, and use Deliveroo. Most deliveries are fine and on the odd occasion something has been missing I’ve never had a problem with refunds. On two occasions in the last few months a significant proportion of the delivery has been missing and again, no problem. You have to upload photos of the items delivered with either the receipt or the delivery bags, and you can choose a refund to your bank or credit to your Deliveroo account.

I agree, I prefer Deliveroo.

Yep was accused of this by Uber Eats. Contact your card issuer and request a chargeback

Just Eat are awful, exploiting their drivers and the businesses who's goods they deliver.

Plus it sounds like they don't even offer a good service and it must be relatively expensive to have stuff delivered this way?

I would definitely avoid them and use normal supermarket deliveries. What sort of things are you ordering and can you just make sure you never run out or have alternatives in so you don't get to the 'need food now' stage and you can just get next day deliveries or get your DH to pick things up?
