If you can go back to your younger self in 20s, what would be that one advice you will give to them which you learnt from your experience.

I’d tell my 20 something self to not let toxic situations spoil the the most precious time of your life (when your children are little).
I would also tell my 25 year old self to write down the passcode for my old phone 5 so that my photos won’t remain locked on that phone forever. :(

If you have to ask yourself if he likes you, he doesn't.

Put your savings into shares earlier.

The fixer upper is more expensive to fix up than you think.

She isn't a good friend.

Go to therapy in your 20s! Don’t get into debt

I love this one, even though I am in the thick of it all with young DC but I really wish I enjoyed their baby stages more, it goes so quick.

You were not fat!!!

NoisyTig · 06/10/2025 18:13

One of mine is to spend a little in getting help and not do everything by yourself, even if it's getting a cleaner once a week, it really helps with quality of life.

Save more money.

Icedlatteplease · 06/10/2025 18:32

Pay into a pension

Don't get married

Family really isn't everything.

OldBeyondMyYears · 06/10/2025 18:35

DO NOT GO INTO TEACHING!!!

I’ve been teaching in primary for over 30 years now…the first 10-ish were great. It’s all gone to shit in the last 20 years. If only I’d had a crystal ball 🔮

Also…don’t marry The Arsehole!

FurForksSake · 06/10/2025 18:36

Do more exercise, you’re going to regret this.

Troublein · 06/10/2025 18:38

Stop worrying about what people think, or what they need.

In 20 years time you won't even know the people whose opinions you are worrying about, so do what is best for you and live your own life for you.

WonsWoo · 06/10/2025 18:38

Don’t fall for other people looking like they have it all figured out and don’t compare yourself to said people. Concentrate on getting where you want to be at your pace.

Ddakji · 06/10/2025 18:40

Don’t buy a house in the boring suburb where you’re from just because your dad’s giving you a deposit - buy it where you want to live and don’t allow him so much control.

And don’t marry that bloke!

cheapskatemum · 06/10/2025 21:10

Have confidence in yourself!

autumngirl714 · 06/10/2025 21:11

Sort out your relationship with food and money!!!!

PermanentTemporary · 06/10/2025 21:14

You can’t eat and drink the same as that big bloke you want to marry and not gain a fuckton of weight, and you’re going to spend probably the rest of your life struggling to lose it again.

Mrsoftandhisstrangeworld · 06/10/2025 21:15

Don't throw away any of your 90s clothes.

You're probably autistic, which is why you feel awkward and out of place ALL THE TIME.

Arlanymor · 06/10/2025 21:16

Don't marry him.
Get serious about saving.
Go for a creative role, don't be held back by self-doubt.

Enigma54 · 06/10/2025 21:18

Avoid teaching as a career.
Remain financially independent.
Pay into a decent pension scheme.
Learn DIY/car maintenance.
