AIBU - LAPLAND UK - is it worth it?

Am I being unreasonable to ask if Lapland UK is actually worth it? I’ve had a good look online and everyone seems very positive about it.

But I also wondered whether anyone has done and found it a bit meh, or been disappointed in the experience given how expensive it is?

We went a few years ago. I loved it. It’s a fabulous magical please. DD is too old now which is so sad FOR ME

Hahaha amazing thank you! Everyone is so overwhelmingly positive about it (which is great) but given the cost I’m trying to be realistic and see if there is a downside that hasn’t been revealed!

Nothing so far!

We are going in Nov so will report back but hear nothing but positives

We went last year and it was wonderful. Ridiculously expensive, but a
lovely day out. Would we go again? No, but only because of the age of my kids it’s a one and done but I’m glad we did it.

I wished perhaps we’d gone a bit closer to Christmas (we did last weekend in November) but the prices went up so much for weekends in December I just couldn’t justify the extra cost ON TOP of what we were already paying.

but it’s wonderful, and the infrastructure, the detail, the IT needed for the Santa experience (( so Father Christmas knows stuff about your child for your time slot) you can absolutely see why it costs what it does. So no criticism about the why it costs what it does, but there’s no getting away from the fact it’s a lot

We went twice when DC were smaller we loved it so much! It’s extortionately expensive but worth every penny in my view. I actually asked them if they’d like to go again this year (they are 16 and neatly 14) and they rolled their eyes at me 🤣 They absolutely loved it as little ones though.

Thank you everyone! Amazingly we’ve managed to get a slot really close to Xmas so that’s good.

We are going when it will be light though so I wondered if that might detract from some of the magic? Or poor weather? It must be grotty in the outside parts when it’s raining?

As you can see I am desperate for someone to tell me it isn’t worth it but seems like that’s not going to happen 😂

But if it’s fab as everyone says it is they’ll love it and it’ll be worth it!

We went when my boys were 5 and 8. It was utterly magical. Make sure you do the thing where you tell Santa some recent news nearer the time. My eldest, who had cottoned on to Santas he'd visited previously always asking the same thing was absolutely gobsmacked when asked about his recent jujitsu belt and our dogs!

I think I’m the only person who was a bit meh about it. My kids loved it. We actually went twice, with the early bird deal.

I was cross that as an adult, I paid the same but didn’t get to make cookies too,
or get a stuffed toy!

It was good. But not at anything higher than what we paid (£39pp the first year, £49pp the second).

Oh it’s way more than that these days - prices have gone through the roof!

They must have started cheap and then ramped them up. 😖
