Dh has stopped snoring using a mouth guard bought online. Can't quite believe it.

I'm hoping it'll last. He's tried different pillows, tape and nose strips. Didn't work.
I read about the mouth guards. He bought one on Amazon. It hurt his jaw so he remoulded it and it didn't hurt. You can only remould 3 times so he bought a fresh one and remoulded that. No pain.
No snoring whatsoever. And he was the loudest of snorers. I can't believe the difference.
They don't work for everyone apparently as depends if it's your tongue causing the snoring.

Dh says leave it in boiling water 15 seconds. Secondly make sure it's in the neutral position when removed from the water and not pushed forward. Bite naturally when moulding. Before wearing have a swig of water to moisten mouth. When you use it push bottom of it forward 1mm before inserting it in your mouth.

I hope it can help someone else? I can link the one he got (twice) there's a few to choose from. His was 8.99.

Posted here for traffic. I just want to try and help us and snorers. It's been horrendous for us.

There's loads to choose from.
This is the one he's got.
Yes absolutely works but only if it's the tongue causing it.

I could have written this post! My DW has snored for years and tried everything. The only thing that works is a mouth guard exactly as you describe off amazon. Its been amazing x

This is called a mandibular advancement device and I can confirm they do work if your snoring is caused by the jaw dropping back a bit when you sleep (like mine does). I can't wear one as I have TMJ and wear a CPAP to bed but my ENT and respiratory consultants both recommend these as the first treatment option for heavy snorers or those with sleep apnoea

Dh has been diagnosed with sleep apnea and is waiting to see a consultant. So he may end up on cpap? Unless they let him test again wearing the mouth guard? He wasn't using it when he tested.
