Dd has put on some weight she’s not massively overweight but I can tell she is unhappy and so I have said I’ll make sure all our meals are healthy wtc
thing is she is going to school and eating pastries and a pannini so not picking the best have tried to encourage her to pick healthier. Is there anything anyone has used to promote healthier choices?
I don’t want to spark an eating disorder or anything but equally I know the pain of being overweight

There is not much that you can say other than the obvious.
It is rare that speaking to her will cause an eating disorder, however if her appetite continues she could blame you for bringing it up, which wouldn't be true.
A lot of young people are very overweight so it is seen as normal.

I wouldn't say a thing unless she asks for help. By that age, she understands the connection between what you eat and health. So, there's something else at play. Food is so connected to emotional comfort. I think that, this is not something you can control and raising it will be really shaming.

Yeah I think your right and iv wondered if my ‘help’ has made her focus on it more and not really helping. I’ll just continue to try and make dinners nice and healthy and leave the rest to her

she has made a comment about why didnt I tell her she had cellulite and I said to her I didn’t want to make her focus on it and fryer to discreetly encourage eating more fruit water etc

Can you encourage her to take a pack lunch ?

Don’t say anything. Model healthy attitudes toward food and physical activity and encourage her to cook with you, which will allow her to make healthier food she still enjoys.
