Why do Mother of the Bride Outfit Ads Exclude Old Wrinklies Like me?

I will be the mother of the bride (MotB) at a wedding next spring. I am looking for suitable outfits. Everything I have looked at online in the MotB class so far is worn by a model who doesn't appear to be that much older my DD - they are all definitely non-representative of me!

AIBU reasonable to ask where do I go, in my late sixties, to find an outfit that suits my wrinkled face, arthritic fingers, hunched shoulders, inability to wear stilettos plus my inability to walk very far? It quite likely needs to be wheelchair glamourous too just in case...

This is likely to become a greater issue in the future as the age of women having children has increased quite a bit since I had my DD over 40 years ago!

Any suggestions welcome...

You never see anyone over about 40 in ads, even those aimed at 60+, with the exception of a very few with long white hair.
I'd guess these days that most MOTB are 60+, and many of them won't want to wear heels or anything too revealing.
One MOTB I know recently attended her DDs wedding in a fab long sleeved sequinned top, a satin maxi skirt and glam trainers. She looked amazing. I would try indie boutiques, depending on where you are, or big department stores like Fenwicks, where you can try on a huge variety of outfits at different price points.

@DelphiniumBlue thanks for the affirmation!

Sadly there's no Fenwicks near me - but I will take on board your comments about looking for Indie boutiques - thank you xxx

I wore heels when I was MoB and MoG. I did take low heeled shoes for the evening though.

I wore a dress and jacket to both (but not the same ones)

Yes it’s always models in their 30s who wouldn’t actually be seen dead in any of the outfits they’re modelling let alone have a daughter old enough to be getting married.

You don't need a "mother of the bride" outfit, just a lovely dress (other 'outfits' are available) that suits you and you feel comfortable in.

I found something in a charity shop. It's a silk-mix v-neck dress. But in your shoes, I think I'd go to a personal shopper in Debenhams (or similar) and get them to show you a few options. There might be something you'd never have thought of.

I'm going to be mother of the groom soon and I have gone for a floral 50s style dress from Joe browns and I'm late 69s age wise
