Especially if it isn't a supermarket. There's so much out there now & if always find meat from butchers etc to be really good value for money... do you get a food shop in a supermarket or do you have subscriptions for some bits/top ups elsewhere/ go local? Who grows their own veg? I am interested and looking to be inspired!

Lidl for veg and meat household and cheese. Waitrose for a treat or speciality ingredient. Grow own toms and spuds and berries. Local farm when passing for treats

Tesco and lidl mix as cheaper for me...I find asda and Aldi expensive for what I buy. If I shopped locally I'd have to pay for parking and tbh struggle to find parking...I live 15 mins drive from town. Supermarkets only option

RedRiverShore5 · 26/09/2025 18:17

Whichever online store that gives me free delivery or a good offer so generally Sainsbury's or Ocado. Top up at Waitrose or M&S

Themagicfarawaytreeismyfav · 26/09/2025 18:19

Ocado, works out cheaper than tesco. Also i don’t buy crap i don’t need by doing it online and the dates/quality are far better than tesco/asda.

mamaduckbone · 26/09/2025 18:26

Aldi or Lidl.
I do buy nice sourdough from a local baker at the weekend if we're around.
I love the idea of shopping in smaller independents but have neither the time, patience or money.

tinytemper66 · 26/09/2025 18:30

Just Sainsbury’s for the nectar points firstly, but I like their food range.

Purplecatshopaholic · 26/09/2025 18:33

I get a weekly Sainsbos delivery. It’s the only decent supermarket near me, and my pets like their food. Tried them all during Covid and they were the best by a mile. Tesco and Asda were terrible. Pop into M&S during the week quite a bit too.

Fatmumslim01 · 26/09/2025 18:33

Ocado and have done for years

It's slightly more expensive but saves so much time, and they price match to Tesco and I find a lot of the own brand things reasonably priced. And they deliver in made bags eg fridge cupboard which just makes life so much easier. We tried an Asda delivery once and it was all loose, never again!

Milk from the milkman, again slightly more expensive but I'm happy to pay for the convenience and supporting a local business. And milkman milk tastes so much better than supermarket milk according to the DC

Thebrink · 26/09/2025 18:33

A mix of Aldi, Asda and M & S.
All 3 are within walking distance so I just walk there when I need stuff.

LarryIsMyRomanEmpire · 26/09/2025 18:34

Generally Asda, but fruit from M&S and I pop in to Farmfoods, Aldi and Lidl to pick up bargains.

Justcallmedaffodil · 26/09/2025 18:34

Ocado mainly, with occasional top ups from the local Tesco. At the weekend we’ll also sometimes drive to the nearby farm shop and get bits of fresh meat/veg/fruit/bakery from there depending on what we fancy at the time. I’d love to shop there exclusively but the prices make my eyes water Blush

SocksAndTheCity · 26/09/2025 18:46

Sainsbury's for main shopping mostly because of Nectar points, top ups at Waitrose, M&S & Aldi depending on which way I'm walking home. I'd use Tesco more but there isn't a decent one anywhere near me.

MissyB1 · 26/09/2025 18:47

Looks like I'm in a minority not having a delivery. We used to do it before Covid, but then they opened a new Aldi down the road and we started shopping there.

PauliesWalnuts · 26/09/2025 18:50

Bury market for fish and veg, Lidl for steak, Parmesan, butter and cleaning stuff, the local farm for eggs from their vending machine but have to get there early, and Sainsburys for everything else.

ThePoliteLion · 26/09/2025 18:50

A mixture of Waitrose, Tesco and M&S foodhall. We don’t do “a big shop”, just regular baskets. Also, the local butcher. Bread from our local post office

BloodandGlitter · 26/09/2025 19:00

Ocado delivery 3x a month then pop into Heron foods once a week. Opposite ends of the spectrum I know. Heron is hit or miss if it has anything decent but I can't remember the last time I left empty handed.
