My DS has an assembly this afternoon that parents can join. I noticed one of the parents had their 4 year old with them, she had a dummy and when she started to whinge she wanted milk, she got a baby bottle out of her pocket with milk in for her. This must be terrible for her teeth.

should I politely say anything?

This is a wind up I assume. Have you nothing better to do?

jettisoned · 26/09/2025 16:03

lol nope, myob.

Lucy5678 · 26/09/2025 16:04

Absolutely not.

Youdontseehow · 26/09/2025 16:04

Nope. Ever heard of shooting the messenger? Mind your own.

Ruggerlass · 26/09/2025 16:05

Definitely not.

WellYouWereMythTaken · 26/09/2025 16:05

Hoping this is a wind up. But no, of course you don’t tell someone else how to parent their child.

craigth162 · 26/09/2025 16:05

100% say something. Cos it's definitely your job to police all parenting

ComfortFoodCafe · 26/09/2025 16:05

No don’t say anything, should of called social services instead hun.

DeedlessIndeed · 26/09/2025 16:06

It's not like she's not aware that her child is 4, using a dummy and giving a bottle. She can also see the other children aren't doing the same thing.

She won't need you pointing it out, and I strongly doubt that she's thank you for it.

K0OLA1D · 26/09/2025 16:07

Why would it even cross your mind to say anything. My god

zipadeedodah · 26/09/2025 16:12

You tel her girl!

Pancakeflipper · 26/09/2025 16:14

Were you thinking of saying something to the parent?

And what would you have said (what words and tone) and what response would you be expecting ?

Tagyoureit · 26/09/2025 16:23

How do you honestly see that discussion going? Do you think you'll be praised and thanked profusely for being oh so knowledgeable?

Do you know the child in question? Their health status? Their mental capacity?

Or did you just want this other mum to know you're just a better parent than them??

Enigma54 · 26/09/2025 16:26

Oh behave!!

TeaForTheTillermanSteakForTheSun · 26/09/2025 16:28

Ywbu to politely say something, the only option here is to be rude, maybe ring a bell beside her and chant "shame, shame, shame" really drive the point home.

I'm guessing she'd 'gently ' explain

Cos that always makes it OK
