To be freaking out at this tiny dent thing on my breast?

Saw this a few days ago in the shower...it's like a tiny sort of crater thing? There's no pain, nothing feels lumpy etc, no history of breast cancer etc in the family. I'm 33 and otherwise in good health. I am booking a GP appointment today when the window opens, but in the meantime, can anyone reassure :( I am prone to health anxiety and am majorly panicking.

Hi @buzzheathgiven your age and lack of family history it would be a little unlikely but definitely worth getting a check! These things move quite quickly so hopefully you’ll have answers soon.

Ohthatsabitshit · 22/09/2025 12:34

Is it a stretch mark?

buzzheath · 22/09/2025 12:34

I've uploaded a pic - awaiting review it says

Always get it checked, you’ll be reviewed at a breast clinic quickly (it’s usually within 2 weeks). When I was seen I was told 9 out of 10 women in the clinic won’t get a cancer diagnosis.

Looks like a chicken pox scar. Always best to get checked. Your age and family history are on your side so try not to worry x

TheChosenTwo · 22/09/2025 12:59

Agree with a pp that it looks like a scar of some kind but you’ve done the right thing if you’re worrying about it. I presume you regularly check (I don’t actively think to very often but obviously do shower myself every day and would hopefully pick up any lumps and bumps that) and you haven’t seen it before therefore it must be new and not a scar as otherwise you’d have noticed it.
fingers crossed it’s all quick and you can have some peace of mind 💐

Thanks everyone - definitely going to book a GP appointment. I really hope they'll refer me and I won't have to fight for it. I just don't understand what the mark is - I've not had any reason to have a scar, and I don't get why it is sort of crater-like?

You may not need a referral, the gp may be able to look at it and determine what it is. I have a cyst in my armpit and that didn’t need referring as they knew what it was and were able to reassure me. I have had other bits and been and seen the breast clinic and they felt my breasts and again were able to clear me without further testing.
