That's absolutely shocking! 😲😡

MrsSkylerWhite · 21/09/2025 13:19

Why would anyone be surprised about this? X is a cesspit and anyone using it needs to take a long look in the mirror.

This wasn't on X

What does it have to do with X?

I’ll get my coat! Skim read. Don’t know much about Meta except Zuckerberg has cow-towed to Trump, too, so equally unsurprised.

Oh come on - you’ve got to be extremely naive to not realise by now (30yrs of the internet being a thing) that your children’s photos and names can be used by anyone for anything when you choose to post them in a public sphere.

Indeed, my mistake.

People need to vote with their feet on these increasingly wild-west platforms generally.

I don't disagree about the naïveté aspect, but I think quite a few people could still be reasonably surprised to find that their children's photos are being used in a questionable manner to promote a product.

Adding, I don't post photos of my kids at all, so not an issue for me personally.

The article was only published yesterday?

I'm not sure people are actually reading it.

Everyone knows your kids photos could end up anywhere but it was the specific targeting of the guy in the story that's pretty shocking.
