To think BTS Hyde Park might be a nightmare

Hello!
My mum is disabled and has her heart set on BTS Hyde Park next summer. As someone who has been to London only once before I'm dreading the journey with her and hoping that it won't be as bad as I think! I really want to support her to have a great time!

Does anyone know much about the disabled access platform? Where do you enter Hyde park to find that bit? Any reccs for somewhere to stay a very short distance away so I don't have to do the tube with her?

Any tips and tricks other than try and get adopted so I don't have to keep getting myself in these situations?!

My AIBU-

Yes you are being unreasonable- its something fun and you will have a great time

No you are not unreasonable, a 70,000 person concert in the UKs largest city when you are from the tiniest town ever and have a disabled person to look after will be a nightmare and you are right to be stressed out! 😉

Use taxis rather than the tube ? They will know the best way in ?

I took my mother in law who is in a wheelchair a few years ago. Was great! DM me if you like.

I went to this some years ago as a disabled person and had absolutely no issues that I can remember at all. I was still mobile then, ( I use a wheelchair all the time now) but I wasn’t able to stand so I was given a chair (normal chair not wheelchair) on the accessibility platform. Everything went fine.

Does she want to see Garth Brooks? If you travel by train you can book assistance both ends. Where will you alight?

MissMoneyFairy · 17/09/2025 16:58

What station do you arrive at, what's the hotel budget.

MissMoneyFairy · 17/09/2025 17:06

If you look up but Hyde park map it shows you where the accessible platforms are, the one by the Amex stand is near the stage, the one in the village is further away but what price tickets are you looking at. There are loads of access and assistance points, you'll have a great time.,

Thanks everyone- we booked a hotel quite near Hyde Park (so she isn't worrying about the tube) and the tickets are for the accessibility platform - amazing that they will give her a seat! From research it looks like a 20 minute walk on flat ground through the park and over the bridge to the accessibility bit. I just tend to have to take the lead on absolutely everything, she reverts to just being helpless and loves to be looked after/chivvied along! This is all SO helpful thank you so much! 💗

We went this summer and it was well organised. We didn’t have mobility issues but looked to be (I wasn’t paying that much attention) as though wheelchair users would be well looked after. If you do go, take food. The queues were unreal.

Can you actually take food? I thought I saw something that said you can't take food or drink at all x

@HoneyPie12 Make sure you ask for the seat in advance though!

OilyTussle · 17/09/2025 19:57

I’m disabled and went to BST last year. It was well organised inside, but not getting in or out. The only issue we had inside was that the rain caused DH’s wristband to disintegrate so he had to argue to be allowed back into the disabled area!
It was a long walk through the park to the disabled entrance, and getting out was a nightmare. There was no dedicated exit so just pushed into the throng, most of whom were complete fucking arseholes who didn’t think anything of pushing in
my way. My stick was kicked out from under me numerous times. I tried to hang back, but security understandably didn’t want people hanging around.

Damn! I thought BTS had announced their tour dates!

Same! I'm on tenterhooks waiting for their announcement. Tbh I hope it's wembley, so much easier and more space.

Me too. I wondered how I’d missed it.

Honestly I’m not sure what the food rules were. But our bags were not inspected. We had water bottles (you can refill). Every food stall had MASSIVE queues so we didn’t bother. I wished I’d had a small sandwich or chocolate bar!
