Sleep consultant asking too much into or the norm?

I have decided to hire a sleep consultant for DC as they go to bed late, wake up multiple times and insist on co sleeping.

With going back to work I am decorate for DC to sleep through the night.

Anyway I had an initial consultation with a sleep consultant on Monday.

The consultant asked a lot of personal questions and I was just wondering if it was the norm?

Full address
Full name of parents
Parents ethnicity
Country of birth of parents
Hospital where DC were born.
Full date of birth of parents
Childbirth details

I found it quite uncomfortable with this as it was merely a consultation and found some details abit intrusive but I am a private person anyway so don’t know if I am over reacting.

Is this the norm?

Do they have an ICO certification on display?

Not read the replies but yes I can see why they'd be needed , although an explanation for some would be good as agree some of these might seem unnecessary .

full address - helpful to have if she wants a visit or allocate payments you make to an address

full names of parents - helpful for her to know how she should address you! (She could just ask for first names though!)

parents ethnicity - sleep consultants will want to rule out spot trends , also helpful to understand if any cultural behaviour is at play,
country of birth of parents - as above

hospital - if she is local to you she might like to know the hospitals and again spot trends - ie 95% of my clients had their children at X, I wonder why - it's amazing what you can learn from data

dob of parents - full dob not needed but perhaps helpful to know their generation

childbirth details - essential but she should give you pointers and explain why she's asking

having said that - save your money. She also should really explain why she wants all this as handing you a list like that is quite odd. She should also be able to explain what she does with the data

Never used a sleep consultant but tried to hire a coach for a youth club recently and was asked very similar questions! The man even commented that my email address "is strange for someone like you" (it's not an English sounding address).
I'd very much expect a sleep consultant to ask lots of initial questions to get a background profile.
