To colour my hair before looking for work?

I have been at home for the last few years while having my 4 children so I’m looking a bit tired.

I have always worked in hospitality and so it is something I’d like to go back to.
I’ve applied for a few jobs today and one has got back to me, however I’ve gone a bit grey in the last few years and I’ve not done anything about it.

I’m also early 40s and not feeling very glam.
Do you think I should start to colour it or is it acceptable to just leave it?
It’s very dark so salt and pepper and hasn’t been straightened in years so sporting my natural curls.

I hadn’t really considered doing anything with it until I heard back from an employer.

Maybe try a temporary wash out in 18 washes one and see how it makes you feel?

It's acceptable to leave it. But if you'd feel better coloring it, then color it.

Whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Colouring your hair is an expensive pain in the butt for many of us so semi-permanent might be the way to go to start with and then you can decide if it’s worth it. That said, grey hair is absolutely acceptable so I wouldn’t do it because of that fear.

If I’m entirely honest I can’t afford to get it done professionally so it would be a box colour from the shop and hope for the best.
If it meant I was more likely to get the job I’d do it.

Try that plantur grey coverage one. Washes in gradually (so less of a shock!) and out again if you don’t like it

I've never coloured my hair, very grey for years, no problems getting jobs. I don't think employers care about that.

I can’t think of a single job that natural hair would make you less likely to get. Wear something you feel confident and comfortable in and prepare for the interview, that’ll make you more likely to get it than dying your hair.
