Sulphur burps - is this normal?

Is it normal to get sulphur smelling burps two or three times a year for seemingly no reason.

I did eat very rich food yesterday. Some of it fried. I haven’t had food poisoning in decades. No one else is feeling off today. I’m devastated my one day to relax has been completely ruined

Would eating be a mistake? Just something plain like chicken and rice?

I don't know op. I've never suffered from sulphur burps. They sound awful you poor thing. How are you today?

I just mean that moving forward, once you've got to the bottom of the case of this, I would try to look after your digestion and gut health. I have to be on very high iron tablets for anemia so suffer from constipation so I eat a lot of fibre and drink lots of fluids, I try to have kefir every day for good bacteria. Given up alcohol etc. I feel better for it.

thank you for asking :)

I bought pepto bismal and the aniseed gaviscon (as recommended by the very kind people on here who offered advice last night) and my word they made the world of difference! The burps went by around 95%. And the ones which did get through had the gaviscon/pepto bismal taste.

You’re absolutely right I have put my body through the wringer in the last year. The only “good bacteria” I get is the very occasional Greek yogurt. Will be changing up my diet asap!

Thank you so much to each and every person who commented yesterday. I’m sure I’d still be running to the window every few minutes right now had I not posted last night

I got these last year after food poisoning, they’re awful. I found over the counter bloateze tablets really helped.
