All I want are some brightly coloured nursery prints and bedding. Ebay has page after page of insipid poo prints and bedding in various shades of pastel puke. Why is it so impossible to buy anything in primary colours for nursaries?

I also wanted bright cheerful colours and we now have some lovely Pooh curtains, bedding, border etc that haven't got a pastel in sight. Is this what you want or are you after something with no pastel and no pooh? The other bright nurseries that I've seen have been either jungle or underwater themes.

I feel your pain...

Try Vertbaudet or Ikea

WilyWombat · 02/06/2008 11:20

Try

La Redoute

Vertbaudet

Next

They generally have an alternative to the icky pastels

I am assuming you didnt want Pooh - if you did the Disney Pooh was in primary colours wasnt he?

Second Ikea, habitat also

berolina · 02/06/2008 11:23

sorry but lol at 'insipid poo prints'

the mind boggles

poppy34 · 02/06/2008 11:24

So with you on this one - loathed the little fleabag as a child and I'm afraid poor baby will be forced to have to endure a pooh ban unless she really asserts her will.

Ikea was very good on bright coloured stuff that didn't feature the stupid bear or any of his woodland cronies.

I HATE winnie the pooh with a vengeance.
When I was at school the class slapper loved him and would wear jumpers and stuff with him on. Any grown adult that wears winne the pooh except as nightwear (I only say this because I have seen some nice cartoon-type nightwear) should be shot in the head.

When I had my first two DC's everyone was informed of my hatred of WTP and never had stuff bought for them with him on it. I waited too late to let people know about my anti-WTP stance with this baby (new DP) and DP's mum and aunt both bought WTP stuff
It will not happen again, they have now been told.

madmuggle · 03/06/2008 20:53

I informed the world that pooh was in fact merely shit. They got the message. Only one person was idiotic enough to give me 'shit' stuff, it went to charity shop.

Not unreasonable at all.

Would agree: next, vertbaudet, ikea are good for non poohey bedlinen

MERLYPUSS · 03/06/2008 21:04

When I was expecting DTs I had no idea what sex they were. I specifically didn't want cream clothing (and accessories) as they are mixed race and I though it would look bland. I really wanted red, purple and orange etc.
And deffo no WTP or bloody disney. Why is a baby bath £10 more coz it has WTP on the side of it ? GRRRRRRR

aintnomountainhighenough · 03/06/2008 21:21

Would never buy any bedding, curtains etc in Pooh however absolutely love him. The books and illustrations are gorgeous it is a shame that Disney has commercialised it.
